F/S 1988 Vette Convertible Eastern Iowa--priced to move
UPDATE:
SOLD! Thanks for looking.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am offering for sale my '88 Vette convertible. The car has approximately 77,000 miles on it, is red exterior and interior with a white top, and has a Greenwood ground effects package. The car is equipped with the 4+3 manual transmission, Z52 handling package and brand new (approx 50 miles on them) Z-rated Goodyear tires.
I purchased the car from my dad in the summer of 2007. He owned it for a couple months shy of ten years. It has been in my care for the past two and 1/2 years. I would LOVE to keep the car, but a series of pay cuts at work have left me short of cash.
The car is a nice ten to twenty footer, in that is does have some nicks and scrapes in the paint, and there is one tear in the convertible top that is about three quarters of an inch long. The seats are leather and do have some minor wear on them, as does the carpet, but nothing bad. The windshield wiper harness has been unplugged because the wipers began running constantly whenever the car was started (some twelve years ago) and because it has always been a fair weather only toy that has always been garaged the problem was never corrected.
Almost immediately after putting new tires on the car the front end developed a vibration that I suspect is related to a balance issue in one of the tires, but I am not certain of this--there could be an issue with a suspension component.
Here's the catch--because the window seals are completely rotten and I can't spray the car down to wash it, I'm not allowing any drives in it now while the roads have been salted. You are welcome to sit in the car, fire it up, shift gears and feel the tranny engage, jack the car up and look under it, etc. However, the car doesn't leave my garage. So here's your chance to take a chance on what I believe to be an easy fix with the front end vibration.
So that's that. If you show up with $4500 cash, you can take the car home with you today. The car is located in Davenport, Iowa. I have a clean title in hand, and will be checking this thread and my PMs at least every other day. First come first serve, and thanks for taking a look!

Hi all, thanks for the interest in the car. I have received a firm offer locally, but the gentleman is going to wait until our fresh snowfall melts to pick up the car. Should the deal fall through (you never know until the title is signed and you have cash in hand) I'll post here to let everyone know that the car is still available.
