To bad you're not close, I could make you a smoking deal on all the things you need, and you wouldn't have to cut up the car. A local guy did what you're trying to do and now he has a 95 that he can't get rid of, and can't even move around.

I agree, however considering the rock bottom values on these cars now, this is no shocker at all. It is a sad state of affairs when a backyard mechanic can strip down his perfectly good car in a weekend and sell for parts via a forum and fleabay and make more than the car is worth as a whole.

Personally, if i were in the market to sell, i may consider the same thing!! I mean in this day and age, what is a clean, well running, 1992 117k mile LT1 car worth anyways??? 6500 at best??? On these forums Id be lucky to get an offer over 6k im sure! Id poke my own eyeballs out before i let it go for that cheap. OR...id strip it down for parts and pretty easily clear 8000 if i really needed to sell for some reason. Sad indeed.

Post your car for sale on here these days you get no action unless you are giving it away...post that you are parting out a clean car and the vultures instantly start circling!!! And we wonder why these are worth more as parts cars!

This post was pretty hard for me to take too, since this car is almost identical to mine. I'm currently finding miscellaneous parts, making minor corrections, and sometimes even going for a drive. In the meantime, the market for C4s is suffering (making it one of the greatest bargains of all time IMO) and I then see a similar car in reasonable condition being parted out. It seemed like a waste.

My opinion changed today when I picked up a few parts from Andrew and his Dad. I was impressed with what they've got going. That C4 is part of a meaningful project, NOT some ill-conceived mess that will end up under a tarp. I feel much better about the whole thing (and appreciate the targa top!).

Thanks, Andrew, for good parts at fair prices.
