The car is for sale a few down in the 4sales thread by Rare96--GS Vert.
Sigh, at first he did not have price here, but he did add it, then I was yelled at because I opined it must be really nice, that I like the black leather better, and that new one is in that price range. So, out of respect for the complainer, I redacted my comment.
I guess I can say what I want in this post, but I will just wish him the best of luck and Merry Christmas to all.
Heheh, when I saw the thread title I immediately thought "GS convertible". But I didn't figure that was honestly going to be what was in the link... So, color me not surprised.
The market for those cars certainly was that high though. I don't know if it still is. Looking at the FS here on CF, there seem to be a lot of GS's. To me that seems like a sign the bottom may be falling out, but we'll see.
I am curious how they can be worth more than a ZR1, am I missing something other than LT4, stripes, colors, wheels? I would think that for the same car, an LT5 would be more valuable, especially now that early 90's to mid 90's is but a blink of the eye timewise. Just curious.

they only made 1,000 and 1 year, and yes the options of course, and verts I don't know how many off hand but...
I know they are not worth nearly that much to me.
I can see why people think they are so special though, or will be.
A lot of cars at a dealer--even specialty dealers--quietly go to auction....leaving us to think they sold (and that impression buoys other specialty sales by the dealer).
I know of one dealer (Corvette specialty) who did that because I almost bought the car before the dealer did, suggested to the down and out fellow that owned it that he wholesale it to the "known" specialty dealer as he needed money to live, saw it at the dealer, and then carfaxed the VIN number a few months later after it was gone from the dealer only to see it had gone to auction.
It was a Ruby.
BTW, there were only 6500 Rubies, and only one year (not comparing Rubies to GS's BTW), and I had one, and I don't think there was really more than a 500-1000 premium on a really nice one. Hard to see how a GS could command a premium of 50-100x a Ruby premium, as nice as that LT4 is. Both had unique exterior and interior colors, but, I dunno. For a long time I thought maybe it was because the LT4 was the last iteration of the original Chevy small block, but then all LT4s would sell for a huge premium (yes, I know all the LSs are Chevy small blocks, but it was a clean sheet design)
Guess I just see it as a really nice limited edition that I would have thought would not command a ZR premium. The LT5 engine (never owned one) could sell well in a 2010.......
