Default 1985 Z51 4+3 Price Reduced to $6500 Near Mint

CAR IS SOLD FOR $6400 ON 10-7-09, THANKS FOR LOOKING

NEW FORUM PRICE is $5900 FIRM and I mean FIRM - Lining it up with the ebay starting price - Would rather let it go here. I will wait until there is a buyer at this level if it takes a week or 2 years

I bought this car in the late winter with the intent of making it as close to showroom as possible and keeping it to take to car shows etc with my at the time yet to be born son. I have had a good time making it near mint and mechanically flawless and took it on a 500 mile round trip to Petit Lemans in Atlanta last weekend and it was perfect.

I now realize I just dont have the time to enjoy it and drive it and i drive my cars. It is a waste to have it just sit in the garage and when my son is old enough I can just pick another one up

You will be hard pressed to find another 85 Z51 4+3 in this shape, the previous owner did the following right before i bought it

New
Carpet
dash condole plates
Steering Wheel / Horn
Billy Boat Exhaust
New Digital Dash (Not Refurbed but brand new)

I have the receipts for all of this work

I have gone thru it mechanically and done the following in the last 600 miles and 6 months

New rear wheel bearings

Full Service of tranny (OD works flawlessly, etc)

New battery

4 wheel Road Force Balance and Alignment

New black seat covers (left original cloth as pictured underneat to preserve it

Throttle Position Sensor

AC Service

Brake System Flush

New Center Console Cushion

Car has 81k miles with all original documentation including window sticker, build sheet and manuals. It is a well documented original car and as you can see from the pics is a 9/10. The only thing left to do in my mind is fix th drivers door panel which can sag from time to time. You can find plenty of C4's for 5k that you will then soak a lot of time and money into to get even close to this shape or you can get a well sorted and documented car from the start ready to go anywhere without concern or worry and look great doing it

Offered at $6500, Baby not included

Robert

Amazing deal on a great looking car.

Good luck, I hope some of the potential buyers realize the value in this car.

Thank you - Quite a few PM's so far - I hope she goes to a good home

This is a special car - hard to find one this clean and original that has been gone thru mechanically like it has

Car is now also on Ebay at an almost unheard of price. If a forum member wants it I will end it early for less than the Buy It Now.

TTT several phone calls but no sale yet - I will let it go at the rock bottom price of $5900 but that's it, if it does not sell at that level I will just keep it. I wanted the garage space not really a money issue but won't give it away

Beautiful car- I amazed how many 85's are listed on Ebay. Some advice, pay a few dollars and show your ebay ad with larger pics- use all 12 pics, and get rid of the baby; the pictures on ebay don't look as good as they do here; pictures are what sell cars.

Thanks - It has been raining here - tonight if i get time I will shoot some more pics. I did the auction when i was out of state and those were the only recent photos on my computer. If it does not sell I will redo the auction for next week with a ton of pics (each wheel, all angles, etc)

I have gotten 5 phone calls int he last day and a bunch of email and dozens of epople are watching the auction so i have definitely generated interest. I'm not going any lower but I am pretty confident it will sell at this level. It is certainly worth every penny. Why someone would but a car that is $1000-$1500 cheaper but have it only be half as nice as this is beyond me - Gluttons for punishment i guess

Pennywise and pound foolish. People get all caught up in the concept of getting an absolute steal. Then they believe what they read here. Come here and ask what any C4 is worth and you'll get 3 or 4 of those outrageous stories, you know the kind:

"What's an 88 with 65k miles worth? "
"Well, I just bought a 93 with 45k miles for $4k, so I'd say $2k."

Your car is a great value. It pains me to see such a nice car sell for such a small price.

MANY high res pics added here and on the bay. Baby removed as per all the advice. Just needed time to wash and take pics. Not the nicest day out but i think you all can see the quality of the car.

A comparable car at this price I just don't think exists - Lots of calls and PM's still but no deal as of yet.

I believe the car is now sold at $6400. Buyer said he is en route to my house with cash this evening - Provided he shows and it goes then I will be happy at that price, I thought $5900 was too cheap but $6400 is probably priced right to sell. I think it is worth $7k but that would take a long time to get, I would rather move on and just play with my Z06. Hope it will have a good home

I hope its sold!

The buyer is getting a hell of a deal and a lot of car for the money. What the heck can you get these days for $6500. Not much.

If you still look at your thread I have a question.

How did you like living with the color of your car?

Easy to care for?

I am really leaning towards that color for my repaint.
