Default C4 Noob needs some info before looking/buying

Wasn't sure if this should go in for sale or general. Mods feel free to move if in wrong section.

I am generally knowledgeable about cars and know C3 pricing and things to look for in that generation. Well now the wife wants her own C4 for a DD and vacation cruiser. She drives less than 4-5k miles a year and we do have another car for her if needed. I want to take a look at this 90 triple black auto on ebay. #180216468268

Before I call to go look at it. What are the known engineering glitches I should be looking for? Maybe there is a thread somewhere I can look at?

Ad says it needs new injectors. Since I will be paying a mechanic to work on this what price range should I expect to do this?

I have only been tracking C4 prices for a very short time.I checked recent sales and it seems like a lot do not meet reserve(I assume owners think it is worth more and market is soft?) What would be the expected range this should sell for if everything else pans out to be in working condition? I can always work anything else needed back off the offer.

Read this, and then print it out to take with you.

Looks like a nice car.

Driver air bag and no digi-dash are big plusses if you like such things. Too bad it's not a ZF 6spd. Sport seats are nice too when they're working right. Triple black is always a good thing in my book.

Any L98 Corvette that has more than 60k miles on it should be able to be had for under $11k in today's C4 market. Even 'verts and 35th Anniversary cars.

The big question is how much do you want to spend? Also, what are "Must haves" ie-Convertible, manual/auto, etc.

I would probably look at 1992-1996 as they came with the LT-1 engine. Only real isssue with these was the optispark, but that is an easy fix (if not fixed already).

These years have the upgraded engine, sawblade rims, and sleeker nose and rear. Very solid car that can be had for the 'right' price.

If you want an even more specialized vette, you can buy the 1 year only LT-4 engine (manual only) which was 1996. They tend to hold their value better, and have more power!Grrrrrr!

Also, ZR1s, Grand Sport, collector additions are available for a premium.
But , a nice, loaded LT1 vette can be had very reasonably. Add 1-2K more for a convertible.
Good luck and let us know wht you decide on/buy!

Thanks for the help guys.

This is for the wife she wants auto . Drop top and the triple black she drools over So in other words this is exactly what she wants.

Resale I am not concerned about. Whatever we buy will be around for a while and if needed to sell this isn't so much that I will be losing the bank on it.

Just one last thing....any idea on the costs to replace all the fuel injectors as listed in ad? Stereo I do not care about. I have a full upgraded after market system to put in it.

I have a message into the owner to come see it tomorrow. Would like to make an offer on the spot before it ends as long as everything pans out.
