May I suggest you narrow it down?
Do you want an LTx motor, or do you like the older cars? An L98?
What transmission, auto or manual?
Vert or coupe?
For that money, you get to pick. Lots of good cars out there for that price. And also a lot of rats that people say are nice. Take your time, and be specific on what you want.
What ever you do, stay away from the 4+3 manual tranny they put in 84 to 88 corvettes.
I made that mistake when I bought mine, and now I have a very expensive 5 speed manual in its place.
Works great, but it was an expensive lesson.
People like the 4+3 when they work.
But when they need repair.......
You don't want in on that.
I am sure sothers will swear they love their 4+3 manual....but consider yourself warned from someone who paid through the nose for that little mistake.
You can buy a nice 6 speed corvette "1989 to 96" in your price range.
88 and older, stay with an automatic tranny, unless they have already swaped a 5 speed or 6 speed in its place.
you are thinking small. try my 96 ce lt-4 full power vert w/hard top for $22750. take your $10k and get a loan for the rest. if you want junk or a slug, think small. if you want fun in your life and want to be the envy of all your friends with such a desirable and collectable corvette check out my ce on the autotrader. it is show quality.

Wow, I feel like I want to an auto dealership without ever leaving my chair.
Actually, he's thinking like someone who will have more than a Corvette to his name one day. Spend your $10k, get a nice car, (I've even seen CEs for a lot less than $22750), and don't worry about paying interest to someone else. Paying interest will keep you from building wealth.
Right. And if you go to C5 land, you see guys trying to get $32 for their car when used C6s are starting to fall into that range. There is no shortage of sellers who think their car is somehow worth more than similar cars on the market.
I still have my 1990 Black on Grey with 60k. Its a manual 6-speed and shifts great. Its about as close to perfect as your gonna find. I siliconed the seals every year I owned it. I have all service records going back to 2000. Mechanically its in perfect condition with the only defect being the driver seat stitching is just beginning to let loose on bottom of the seat. I have brand new synthetic leather seat covers for it that slip on to protect the originals. Other then that everything works including the power antena. It has a Borla exhaust but I still have the original. I can email pics if you'd like. Asking $9350
first, my c-4 is fully optioned with hard top lt-4(grand sport drive train)
second, i have found 9 corvettes like the c-4 i have for sale from $39,900 to $24,500 with various miles and modifications. i have in good faith tried to set a price that actually would sell this corvette. i have showed my 62 and 73 corvettes in many car shows encumpasing 30 years. this 96 corvette is excellent condition.
and last, before i joined this forum, i read the the rules and suggested ways on how to sell and post information and one most important note was that a post should not disparage another forum members comments in this venue.
fast howard

Good luck.
Figure out what you want or like. Everyone has different tastes, and there are some subtle and some not-so-subtle differences between the years. Different body styles (do you like round or square lights?), transmissions, motors, interiors (digi-dash vs more current). There are a lot of good deals out there.
