For Sale. 87 Convertible 342 HP Traco, 4+3. Black/Graphite
1987 Corvette Convertible. Black exterior with black convertible top. Graphite leather interior. 66,000 original miles. Paint is very good and is original. The convertible top is also in very good condition. It is loaded from the factory with all of the power options, with the exception of the "sport seats". The original sticker price was $36,619.00. Everything works. All power features work (windows, seats, locks, mirrors) including the cruise control and power antenna. The leather interior is clean and in very good condition. It also has a professionally installed Sony stereo, 10 disk CD changer w/sub woofer and removable faceplate. Everything related to the dash works and the digital dash display is clear and bright.
The “Traco” motor was professionally built by Nascar/Callaway engine expert Jim Jones. If you are not familiar with “Traco Racing”, follow this link to learn more about Traco and Jim Jones. http://www.tra-coengines.com/history.html
Their great successes speak for themselves. Dick Guldstrand (aka Mr. Corvette and Corvette hall of fame inductee) relied on Traco/Jim Jones to provide the power plants for all of his Guldstrand GS 80 Corvettes. These motors combine great drivability and reliability with excellent performance. The Traco motor in
this 87 Convertible runs like a Swiss watch. Traco Racing also was a favorite of big name Celebrities and rock stars. When they wanted a special motor, Traco was the place to go. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charlie Sheen, Nicholas Cage, and Alex Van-Halen are among the customers that commissioned Traco to built motors for their cars. Boyd Coddington also used Traco for his high-end street rods.
After this balanced and blueprinted 350 cu Traco motor was built, the motor was calibrated on a dyno, and a custom program Traco computer chip was burned to match to motor. The motor dyno’d 342 hp and 418 ftlbs at the crank. The motor cost in excess of $13,000 to build and install. The 4+3 transmission is an updated Doug Nash version with enhanced overdrive control. The clutch is tight and the tranny shifts smooth as silk. This car hauls butt and still gets 25+ MPH on the highway.
The team at Traco really put together a great motor in this 87 drop-top, and it shows. All emissions equipment is in place and it passes California emissions and inspection! The exhaust features custom Traco emission compliant headers, which feed into a free flowing catalytic converter and out to stainless steel Borla mufflers. The exhaust note of this car does not sound like any TPI motor I have ever heard before. To me it sounds more like a C5 ZO6. It is definitely healthy. The Epsilon 3 piece wheels were supplied from Dick Guldstrand Racing as well as the Bilstien shocks.
The car has always been routinely serviced/maintained, professionally detailed and garaged. The condition of the car clearly reflects the extra care that has been given to this car. The title is clear and it has a clean car-fax report. This car is primarily the same as a Guldstrand GS80 Corvette with the exception of a few suspension enhancements. The best part is you don’t have to pay $30,000 + to own this Vette.
This car just flat our runs great, and is an absolute blast to drive. Don’t miss out on this special Corvette. It is bargain priced to sell for $13,900.
Here is a deal sweetener I have to offer; if you purchase this car, I will cover the cost of shipping the car to your front doorstep,(if you need it shipped), provided you live within the standard route region of All American Auto Transport Inc., (which is essentially the entire continental 48 states).

I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the car.
I will be adding more pictures. They will be higher resolution and more angles/interior pictures.
Thank you for the information. You have a fantastic car with a clean history in great condition but after thinking this through I think I'm going to spend some money on my 89 instead of buying yours. Also, I swore that my second vette wouldn't be black like the one I have! (But I will always have a black vette because they look the best.)
Again, great car, at a fair price with that motor/delivery/etc! Good luck with the sale!

I have no need for another Vette although I would love to own this car . I just dropping a note stating that as I was looking @ the pictures of this car and my wife was walking by the computer she stopped and did a double take of the car and was almost mesmerized by it . She doesn't do that to just any Vette and come to think of it I can't think of many that she has . She walks by my CPU allot and I'm always looking @ vettes .
If I could sell my 91, I'd certainly be happy to take yours off your hands.
That is a great looking Vette, and everything I'm looking for. If I can get mine moved in a reasonably short time, I'll be contacting you pronto!

Great looking car. How many miles on it? I had a 83 Mustang Gt that had been pro built, engine and suspension. Black and black wheels like this vette. Super clean, took a year to sell it to get my current vett.
