Wanted: 92-96 6-speed admiral blue < $13k
Last friday night was probably one of the saddest days of my life -- I went around a corner on a wet road and totalled my 94 admiral blue 6-speed. I had only owned her for 6 months and had fallen in love -- top off, open road, warm sunshine, cd playing...
So here I am... back on the forums looking for the same C4. Keep you eyes out for me!
thanks guys,

It's beautiful, but unfortunately it's automatic. It must be a 6-speed... it just feels so good to shift through those gears!
thanks for the heads-up though!

tranny switch
wow didn't even know you could switch out those trannys. seems like it would end up costing a mint and tie up the car in the garage for weeks. if someone knows an efficient way to do it for less than 2k i'm all ears!

I was actually being a little You are looking for a pretty rare car though, since there were only 2534 LT1's
painted Admiral blue(56 ZR1's). about 1885 were coupes,(74%) about 400(21%)had the 6spd. There are 3 ways to get what you want
1.keep looking until you find it(may take a while because of rarity)
2.find any 6spd LT1, paint it Admiral
3.by an auto, and swap out the tranny and rear.

paint
lol! yeah, tell me about it... nothing like falling in love with a nearly impossible to find car! I like the idea of getting an ordinary LT1 6spd and having it painted. the other colors are much easier to find and a whole lot cheaper so even if the paint job was 2k i might still come out ahead. clever! any idea what a decent paint job might cost?

c4 person, I just did a search on autotrader and cars dot.com for curiosity's sake, and to see if I can help a fellow Admiral lover out There were no 6spd Admirals in the country that showed. However, I just checked on ebay, there is a 95 Admiral 6spd coupe with 74k mi for sale right now, with a buy it now price of $11750. seems like a nice car.I don't know where you are located, but it says the car is in Wisconsin. ebay
wow thanks! i contacted the owner and hopefully he'll call or give me his number soon. it looks promising, but the carfax is showing some weird stuff.
-- in 1995 it was registered as a corporate fleet vehicle.
-- he says they're factory zr1 wheels, but the picture shows the stock ones.
-- he says it's never been painted as far as he knows but carfax has that on 11/03/2005 "Vehicle color noted as Burgundy".
-- it "Failed emissions inspection" on 3 occasions.
-- in 2001 at around 50k miles a "not actual mileage title" was issued.
until i get him on the phone, i'm not quite sure what to make of all that...

I have the same car you just totalled. If that happened to me they would have to bury me in the car because I would be so heart broken. It is my first vette and I plan on keeping it forever. I wish you luck in finding another one. It took me several months to find an Admiral blue with black interior and a 6 speed and all the options I wanted. If I see one I will be sure to let you know. Good Luck!

I know someone who has the car you're looking for at almost the price...I just haven't taken the time to prep the car and list it for sale yet I replied to your e-mail. Good luck with your search and if I can help you in any way just ask.

yeah, heartbreak is the perfect word for it. it took me about 6 months to find her the first time. i don't even want to think about waiting another 6 months. In the mean time I'm getting an old beater.
I haven't seen those two. the insurance company gave me $12,600 so i'm pretty much limited to around $13k. That pretty much means higher miles, but that's something i can live with.

Cash talks. You just never know...
There were a few other blues ones on autotrader.com. There may hve been some lower priced ones. There was one with a body kit on it which I didn't care for.
Good luck.
