No longer available. 1996 Corvette Collector Edition Convertible; LT4 6speed. Silver with red leather interior, blue top. 103,500 miles, no mechanical problems. This car is in my rotation of daily drivers. Firestone SZ50EPs have ample tread. New Bilstein shocks installed at 90,000 miles. This car is in Los Angeles and was originally an Arizona car. No rust. Interior has no tears or serious cosmetic problems. I've owned this car since 42,000 miles and 80% of mileage since has been freeway driving for commutes up and down I-5. Paint is glossy but has some front-end dings/road rash from the Central Valley bi-plane-sized insect population impacting the nose at....uh....high speeds.
Drive train is strong. No oil consumption to speak of between oil changes. Dealer-maintained. The car had the intake gasket oil leak when I bought it and that was repaired with no recurrance. Water pump and Optispark were replaced at 70,000 miles with no problems since.
This is the last of the C4s so the convertible is of the "Flexible Flyer" generation. But it's tight for a 10 year old 100K convertible, handling is tenacious. The magnificent factory-hotrodded LT4 engine and ZF 6-speed manual transmission are strong and bulletproof. Selling only because I am planning my next Corvette.
I can send photos to interested parties in a few days after the rain stops here in L.A. Email is fastest way to reach me.
KBB.com Private Party "Good" Value = $15,555. This will sell for less and price is quite negotiable. For someone who wants a fast, affordable, reliable Corvette convertible experience on a budget, this one runs with the big boys.
