Default Need Help on Fair Pricing of Mint 95 Coupe

What would be a fair price for a stock automatic 95 Admiral Blue coupe with 8,000 original miles? There's not a mark, scratch, or spec of dust on the car, original everything (including tires and sawblade rims), with no modifications. It's been driven about 600 miles in the last two years. Always garaged.

Being new to these cars, is there anything that I should consider or look out for when considering this year C4?

Jim

Others will chime in re pricing. PM sent. Sounds very good. Could be a little too few miles per year to keep everything moisture free. Might be a good idea to change all the fluids before any grand riding around. Opti should be ok since it's newer design. Ck automatic fluid for black burnt smell. Shouldn't be, but you never know. Ck for leaks under hood or around doors and windows, top, back hatch.

Sounds good to me!

If it's that good...mid-high teens?

EDIT: I misread the miles, thought it was in the 30's for some reason, low 20's here w/ 8000 miles.

According to what I have been led to believe, it depends on what part of the country you live in. That is why NADA and KBB always ask for a zip code. I have a 95 with 41,500 miles on it that I get emails and an occasional call about but no one seems to even want to come over and kick the tires. Check out the going prices in your area and don't worry about what they are selling for hundreds or thousands of miles away unless you just have your heart set on buying that particular car. Best of luck to you. Bill

As I have had said time and time again...NEVER, EVER ask pricing opinion here on the forum, some of the greatest people on earth can be found here but it seems EVERYONE will tell you YOUR car is worth half of what your want, they saw the SAME car at their brother in laws for even trade for a riding lawn mower etc. (these are also the same people that want twice what you are asking for your car for THEIR CAR) with that said (whew feel better) I would say your car is in the 25,000 range (high 20 to 25) if you think that 25 is high check out the specialty Corvette shops (i.e. Rogers,Tom Jumper, Maxie Price) that is average price for car. BTW I have a similar 1995 car with low miles (Dark Metallic Purple) and have turned down 22,000 several times in the last 24 months...

You are dreaming with mid-teens. The C5 you will get for low twenties will have significant mileage on it, ie 15-30 k mi. And it will be a '98-'99. C5 is still an outdated body style now. I will grant that a '99 auto c5 with 8000 mi will be more than this car, but I bet the '99 would be close to $30k. Mid 20's is not unreasonable if it is showroom new and especially if he has receipts to show care.

Sounds like there may have been a bit of confusion here, probably caused by my posting that wasn't too descriptive. I have the opportunity to purchase a pristine 95 C4 LT-1 automatic. When I say pristine, I mean showroom if not better condition. It's all stock - no mods. 8,000 miles. It won't become available for a few weeks, maybe a bit more than a month. It's located in NY. I'm very interested as I've been looking for something like this for a while.

Thank you for your feedback. I'll take everyone's thoughts into consideration. I'll let you know how I made out.

I recently sold my white 95 auto in mint condition with 22k miles for $18,500. First person who saw it bought it however he was also the only one who called. There is a lot of luck involved in selling a car- if you can wait you should get $19,000 easy, after all it is a new car. Hope you are using a gas stabilizer as stale gas can cause very expensive problems.

PS - I would never ask the forum members for fair pricing. They were totally wrong 3 times with the cars I recently sold. For example;

85 4+3 Z51 about 60k miles -they said it was worth $7k to $8k the most- sold it for $12000

88 4+3 Z51 with 32k miles - they said it was worth $9k max- got $14,700

95 auto with 22k miles- they said $13,000 max- got $18,500

All cars were in very fine condition. Sold them all for a 02 Z06 with 6k miles for $34k and can not believe how it handles and accelerates- finally found a car that was fast enough.

If you got $18,500 for a '95 in AZ with 22 k mi, it's going to cost a lot more for the '95 with 8k mi in NY. NY is a very high cost-of-living area, it gets no higher, depending on where in NY. I stick by my statement that low twenties is not unreasonable, the guy who said mid teens is dreaming.

Whoever said watch the gasoline also raises an excellent point--with these ultra-low-mi cars there can be big issues if not cared for just right. And you are paying top dollar. That's why I stay away from this part of the market. Especially with the opti LT1/4 cars, I'd prefer something that was driven at least 5 k mi / year.

Excellent news! It confirms my feeling that C4's can still get a good dollar. Just helped a friend sell a '74 modded Corvette for $17K and everyone told me it would be lucky to get $10K. So many folks are clueless when it comes to pricing. If you have a nice Corvette, be patient and realistic. They are not nearly as plentiful as some folks believe. So much for these experts?

What are you going to do with the car? Are you going to put it in your garage and cover it up for the next 20 years or are you going to use it for a daily driver for the next 5 - 10 years?

Mr. Peabody,

I'd be driving it more than is ever has in the past 10 years. I'll have a regular everyday car for back and forth to work. But I'd probably put 3-5k on it a year.
