??? - price - 95 coupe - minor damage
i have a chance to get a 95 coupe, red on red, automatic, low option car (no cd, no power seats, single painted top), with 22500 miles. the car runs fine - no mechanical issues, and is fairly clean (both interior and..., well, read on...), EXCEPT it was in a minor accident. the left dogleg and left (aft-section) door was hit. it was almost like a side swip, from the rear, accident. the damage to the dogleg is that, at the body rub strip, top section, its pushed in about one half inch, and the aft lower door has fiberglass damage about 1/3rd of the way toward the front of the car. the quarter panel does have a small (3 inch ) crack in it (sorry, i don't have any pics). if i have to buy new parts, (from gmparts), door skin, body jam section, new dog leg, (if i even need all that), with shipping, its about $450. with paint, etc, i think i can fix this for around $1000. i'm not looking to end up with a show car, but just an every day driver.
the body shop estimate was (and i'm guessing) $4000, but they estimated (i think) a new door assembly, new left wheel (original has some minor scrapes to the clear coat), and i'm sure a new dog leg panel, etc.
now my question is, do you think $12000 too much to pay for this car - ??? originally, the dealer was asking $16885. TIA

THANKS!
...after sleeping on this overnight, and reading your replies, i came to my senses (thanks guys!!!). 12K is too much for this car. i agree that something around 9K is a more realistic price. even at that, i'll probably pass. i think i'll stick a grand or so in my old 1985 z51, and keep it as my everyday driver. besides that 21K 95 really isn't in any better shape (cosmetic, even without the damage), as my 100K 85. again, thanks for the replies!!!
