Price has indeed been lowered 2k and is now a firm $14900. Editing initial post as well.

I am using this thread as my main ad which I have many other ads pointing to as a reference. I don't expect to sell via the forum but it does serve as a good hosting site and I am sure the mods love the newbies that it attracts.

If the pice is reduced 2k... would that not make the price 12.9k?? If yes, I am interested...

Thanks,

Mike

I am surprised this car has not sold yet - For the money now, more than ever, it is a great price on a car that WILL hold its value

You are also right about the forum not exactly being THE place to sell a car - most here already have one or two they cherrish and don't buy unless it is a "give-away" car it seems...

I have three 1989's so I am either partial, or on to something here Good luck!

First of all, I just want to say that you have a gorgeous car! Unless you really need the $$, stick to your guns. Whoever buys this car is getting a practically brand new '89. The biggest problem you are dealing with is selling right before winter which is not a good time to sell in the Northeast. I know that you will hear that you can get a newer car for that price but I would not give that car away. Sooner or later you will find a buyer. Good Luck with the sale

I agree that $14,900 is a very fair price for your car and you will get it if you can wait. I also am selling my blk/blk 88 Z51 with all factory options except glass top. It has 32k miles and i will not go lower than $14,500 and really have not tries that hard so I am at $15,500 right now. It is a sweet looking and handling car that is a lot of car for the money. What can you but now for that price - a used Civic??? Good luck and don't give it away.

While $14,900 may be a fair price, is it reasonable considering the car is in the northeast and most likely won't be driven all winter. Based on prior sales and other than the car being a unique color, there's nothing special about this year or this car. Similar vehicles are selling for between $9 & $12k

Ohh , please show me where to find a low mile 1989 6-speed Z51 / fx3 car and I will buy it for the 9--12k you are quoting

Isn't there something in forum rules about talking negatively about ones price?? (nice 1st post BTW - did you join, just to say that??)

Ohh yeah, right at the TOP OF THIS PAGE! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...21&forum_id=54

9.)Do not attack a sellers price, if you feel his price is too high(or to low), send a private message or email and ask why. Personal attacks will result in a suspension of posting privileges.

Stonecutter908, maybe CF.com isn't the right place for the car - might try online @ www.hemmings.com where the car would be more appreciated

Way to back me up ... 89x2. Thanks.

I have had several serious inquiries (all from non CF sites) but people just can't seem to get come up with the dough in the end.

Even though this is my main ad, I have ads littered across the Net redirecting prospective buyers here for more information ... such as RPO codes that I would have to pay per character on a pay site.

Any low ball offers or comments should be directed to me via PM or email so they can be discussed offline.

I totally agree. Unfortunately selling a spotless C4 like yours takes time to find the right qualified buyer. But they are out there. Where can someone buy such a fine C4 for a fair price? I am glad to see some owners are not going to give their C4's away. For those who want to buy ones for much less, wait until they discover how much more it will cost them in the long run. It amazes me to see folks pass up a superior C4 to save a few thousand dollars. I bought a spotless '87 Vert years ago and paid top dollar because I wanted a near perfect C4. I knew from past experiences that it was less expensive to spend more and buy the best model available. Less always ends up costing much more.

Also, all discretionary spending seems to be very tight right now in our economy. It's not just Corvettes. People are holding on tightly to their extra cash. It may loosen up by Spring.

Best of luck. If you like, I can market it on my Corvette enthusiast web site since my site it is located in western PA. I have a potential buyer with cash who is looking for a C4 like yours too. I've been trying to convince him to spend more to get the best C4 out there. Let me know if you're interested. Since your a forum member, I will waive any costs too.

Put it on Ebay. Ebay has one distinct advantage. It will tell you what your car is worth.....what someone is willing to pay.

Looks great by the way.

Latest potential buyer has not returned to seal the deal. I suspect that his loan did not go through.

Car will indeed be hitting ebay (with a reserve price) in the near future.
