Default 89 Vette 4 Sale $9000/obo

1989 Red Vette 4 Sale

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 1989 Chevy corvette for sale. It is red, 6spd, power everything. It has the removeable glass top and custom side pipes. It also has the rear bumper skirt, front bumper skirt, and the side bumper skirt that follows the shape of the pipes. The car is very loud and only has 72,600 miles on it. It has always been garaged since ive owned it. I owe my bank about $9800, but im looking to get $9200. The rear tires are practically brand new. It has dark gray interior with leather seats. I am located in berlin, CT but the car is stored in my friends garage in Middletown. For anyone that wants pictures, please provide me iwth your email address and i will get them to you asap.
The car does carry a salvage title, due to it being damaged, but it was repaired because it didnt have any mechanical damage to it. the outside body panels were replaced with newer model panels.
Vin# is : 1G1YY2186K5124770

Thanks

Pete

PS- reason for selling is because insurance is getting very difficult for me to afford, and since i have a loan out on the car i have to keep full coverage.

Price: $9000/obo

Default What would you pay?

No bites yet? What would you guys pay for my car? $9200 is my asking price, even though id have to put approximately $700 out of my pocket to pay off the loan and get the title for the buyer. Please, someone let me know what they would pay for this car

Thanks
Pete

I guess some potential buyers would want to pay "considerably" less than the amount you are asking.
I believe your asking price would be "in the ball park" without the salvage title but with the salvage title I expect many potential buyers would want a "big" discount. You might do better in the spring with a lower price. Good luck!

Hi Pete,

I think you got your answer when you had the car listed on ebay a week or two ago. I believe it topped out at $8150 or something like that. I would think this is the number you are looking at, even if you owe nearly 10K on it. That salvage title is killing you as I was interested in your car until I saw that. Even if the car is 100% fine, the stigma remains neverless.

FWIW I bought an 84, 2 owner, fully documented from day one, 74K miles, loaded, everything works, meticulously serviced, needs nothing but a pair of tires for about $6K.

As was previously mentioned, you might do better in another month or so when the weather breaks. Prices always go up a bit then.

Lots of luck!

thanks, i hope so. whats weird is the credit union who gave me my loan, only approves you for the amount the car is worth, so back in november of 2004, it must have still been worth over 10k, even with salvage title.

Well what a book says and what someone is willing to pay can sometimes be two completely different things.

Many years ago when I was a youngster, I collected coins. I remember distinctly one day running up to my father and showing him a penny I had found. I proudly proclaimed "This penny is worth 50 cents according to my pricing book". My Dad responded "Only if someone is willing to give you 50 cents for it".

Funny what we remember from our childhood. But in this case, very appropriate.

Once again, good luck.

Default Ask MrNuke and Jeffvette

Check the very clever responses MrNuke and Jeffvette sent to my post of March 10 where I posted "WTB a 6 speed Vette under 8K.

Your car looks fiiiiiineeee finnnnnnnnnnnnne ffffffffffine to me, I don't care who/what (ever) was behind labeling your car "salvage" on a piece of paper. Big deal, so what.

Good luck with your sale.

p.s to Mr. Nuke - I am a busy man, but it took me less than a week to find mine.
p.s. to Jeffvette - did you draw that picture with your own crayons?

If you bought one for the price you were looking for with a salvage title, I wouldn't be surprised..

To the seller : congrats to the sale..
