Default Can you tell a big difference in the ride selector?

I'm just your average joe ZR1 driver, no seasoned race car driver, but I can't seem to tell the difference between any of the settings when I switch the ride selector (touring, sport, performance).
What should I be looking for?
thanks
Colt

Default Ride selector

I've had two vettes with FX3. A 95 Z07 and my 91 ZR-1. I used to think it was a useless gimick. As my driving abilities have improved I've come to appreciate it and can feel the difference in the settings. From a drag race holeshot, touring mode will give you more weight transfer. In the performance mode the cars handle better, tighter is the best way I can think of to describe it. If you forget to take it out of performance mode after an autocross and get on a rough road it is pretty noticable.

There is a significant change in ride in mine. The test I use is on a concrete highway with expansion strips. Hold constant speed, run touring for 10 – 15 seconds then switch to perf. If its working you will feel the difference.

Yes, there is, but then again I have coilovers and the shocks revalved to the Morocca setting.

As a "profile grinder operator" I can say we have some of the roughest expansion joints in the country are here in California... Rough expansion joints are really "warped panels"
Another noticeable change in a FX3 car is it won't pitch as much when in the performance mode... this is really noticeable when getting on and off the gas in the lower gears...

So, are you saying I'll get better grip when in touring mode from a dead start?

Yes, thats the idea. Definitly notice all the settings here, easy to when you live in the mountains.

In stock form, there is a little difference and it can be felt. You need a road that put the shocks at work to feel something.
With an aftermarket controller and chip A207, there is a much more noticable difference.

I have had other cars with a similar ride control, and felt the same way you have in that there was very little difference. However, from the very first day I bought my ZR-1, in noticed the difference. I drove it across the country on winding elevated roads, on flat straight-aways, below sea level, etc., and this car handles great depending on the setting.

As to what you should be looking for, I'd say the easiest thing to notice for a novice driver would be the stiffness going over a rough or bumpy road. Touring will give you a smoother ride where as performance will be noticeably stiffer. If you cannot feel the difference there, then maybe your system is not working properly. If you do feel it, then as time goes on and you tackle different types of driving conditions while pushing it a little, you we feel the differences as well.
