The stock TB is only costs about 5 hp on a full tilt LT5 (If I remember the dyno correctly). I've never seen a need to step up the TB.

i know marc haibeck or greg van deventer can enlarge your throttle body from the stock 59 mm to 63,i don't think you would see much horsepower gains there. i would suggest doing this only if you port and polish the upper intake(plenum, injector housings, horn) greg van deventer does an excellent job and he is very reasonable. i think around $1500 for it all.

thanks for the quick replies. if I were to do a port and polish of the intake and injector housing should I take it to someone who specializes with the ZR1 or can I take it to someone who ports heads?

Id rather have it done by haibeck, or MrCrowley here on the forum, or Van Deventer. But that is me. Im sure anyone who does porting should be able to do it, but you may not get the results that you will get with an expert like the three I listed.

I remember reading an old post by The Lurker in which he said hogging things out is one thing but knowing what to take, how much to take, and where to take it from makes all the difference.

There are many different levels to the porting. I recommend you do both the plenum and inj housings together. Stock ports are 33mm and can be ported from 34.5mm to 36mm and with different degrees of divider removal. You and the porter need to know your needs and application.
Only go with an LT5 expert. Bill Kirchoffer, Mike Crowley, Marc Haibeck, Greg Van Deventer are the few I know. There are a few more.
