Well, I wasn't going to start this till next week but I was really curious about getting off the bolts on the cam cover. Started out nicely, all popping loose. Last bolt I can get to without first taking off the casing on the evaporator housing stripped. Bottom bolt on the very front of the cam cover T-30 torx, the smaller bolts stripped. Question is "how do I go about getting that bolt out".

i found the only way to get a stripped torx cam bolt out was to drill down the center of the bolt with a drill bit that is a little smaller than the torx head. i then hammered another torx bit that was a little bit larger than the drill hole in that hole. i was able to get 3 stripped torx heads out this way.
Get everything out of the way. Take a chisel and score a notch in it. Remember to knock the hell out of it when notching it because this helps in breaking it loose. Now, take the chisel, 45 the angle with the bolt head, and hit it like you were mad at it in a counter clockwide direction.
I just drilled the heads off of mine. Once the cover is off the rest of the bolt comes out really easily. I had more control with the drill than I do with a hammer and chissel. The bolt is not going to be reused anyway - but it you screw up the cover...

Thats what I do, no need to try and hammer the chisle into the head.
you drill the head off the bolt dead center and then remove the cover, use vise grips to remove the bolt after that or end up drilling it completly out of the head. THats what I always have done to bolts like that and being a machinist thats my best advise, I dont see a chisle and hammer bing good up near the cam cover in that recesed area
Try the chisel first. It's tons quicker. Just make a notch across the face of the bolt head with the chisel, then put it to one side of the notch, and then bang on it counterclockwise. That usually does it! Drilling takes some time and if you slip off the bolt head you just did what you were trying to avoid.

I tried that this morning with no luck. even after I notched it and tried to hit it out I just ended up chewing the head more. Those bolts are soft. Anyways I ended up drilling the head off of it. Got the rest of the bolts out with no problems at all. Just have to use a Vise Grip to take the rest of the bolt out now.
