I ran the BBORR in 2001(135mph class) and in 2002(155mph class). All I can say is that is WELL WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION!
The ZR-1 was meant to be run at high speed like you do in this event. The course is 59 miles each way, with about 56 or so turns/curves. It is more of a technical run than the Nevada events which are more of a straight line course. These cars a incredibly stable at speed, at some points(like a 5 mile straight) you'll even feel yourself getting comfortable crusing at 155-160mph. I have in car video of both runs but, in particular, the run in 2002 when I hit 180 mph, which did get me disqualified for busting my tech speed, but that is another story.
BTW, I'm also a member of the Motorsport Ranch (a 1.7 mile road course south of Ft. Worth, TX.) and I'll tell you, the ZR-1 is a very capable machine on the road course, but I feel it is more in its "element" out on the open road.
Regards,
Paul
P.S. If you end up going, let me know and I'll provide you with some intel on the course(ie: time/speed/distance formulas, course video, etc.) and other "nice to know" stuff.
