Default Spare Exhaust Cam

I was going to install a second set of exhaust cams in place of the intake cams for a little more performance. I managed to get a second LT5 engine that was grenaded. unfortunately it blew up more than I thought. Anyway the one exhaust cam is damaged. Anyone have a spare exhaust cam they might be interested in selling? Otherwise stock intake cams go back in as I want to get this engine back together sooner rather than later. Thanks all.

You can't install 4 exhaust cams in your motor. But if you need any cams let me know. I need a left side intake cam, can you sell me one?

Hi Guys, just getting into the blown motor so I don't really know whats salvageable nd what is not. The block has been blown on both sides, valves have been snapped and schrapnel everywhere in this thing. I was usuing it because I know the accesories can be a pain which is why I wanted the back ups ie A/C compressor, water pump, starter etc as the motor only has just under 16K original on it. I don't know how good the internals are but the one head is damaged. Pulled the cam cover off and the exhaust cam was damaged so I can imagine what the head will look like. Is there soemthing specific you needed. Technically the motor isin't mine but it belongs to a buddy. He told me to take whatever I needed and I told him I wanted the accesories and wires. He may have one good head still. sleeves? Crank who knows? I am cautious about selling items as I cannoy vouch for their saleability but my buddy will sell anything pretty much since it's no use to him. Once I reassemble my engine what is left will be sold if saleable anyway?

2. Why can't you run 4 exhaust cams in the LT5? I thought the only difference was the exhaust cam was slightly more aggressive in that it opened both exhaust valves simultaneously where the intake cam opened the primary first then the secondary intake valve. 4 exhaust cams therefore could open both intake valves together and get more flow? Not so?

I think you've gotten some bad info. The exhaust cams have less total duration than the stock intake cams. you would seriously degrade performance by doing what you suggest.

The intake cams have two distinct profiles, primaries have 214* duration, secondary lobes have 228*. Exhaust, meanwhile, is 214* on both lobes. (going

Wouldn't be too keen about 14* less duration on my motor!

OK thanks for the info guys. I guess I was ill advised.

2) As soon as my motor is reassembled ( I may still need parts from this motor yet) I will let everyone know what is for sale from it the condition etc and price. this motor has 16K original on it. I will list it for my buddy who owns the motor because like I said outside of the accesoiries and plug wires I did not want anyhting form the motor. I'll keep you posted for January probably. Thanks.
