Default headlight motor blues

Hello all I am have some problems with my headlight motor. Here is what happens when I turn on the lights one side will just go half way and just swing there moving back and forth with no tension. It did this a few times and then it worked fine after that. I did notice after it started to work again that i could hear the motor turning longer then the other side (about 3-4 seconds after it's up or down) do you have a coments on this problem? Thanks in advance for all your help

Yes, my comments are as follows:

Order this: http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...V7P00CWFXV2P0F

Pay $4.99 (per headlight motor)

Wait for Ecklers shipping, when it comes drink a few beers and fix headlight motor from start to finish in 1 1/2 hours saving you hundreds of dollars in repairs at the dealer.

The other side could work for awhile or not. My luck is usually that the 2nd headlight is not far behind. Might make sense just to order 2 kits for a total of apx $10.00.

Good Luck!

I did both at once, I should have changed out my lights at the same time, but didn't. Just take your time and do it yourself. It's not that hard.

I agree - was it binding?

I hardly ever hear of the motors going bad.

I noticed a few weeks ago that my right headlight got stuck at the half way point. I closed it and tried again. After the 3rd attempt it finally opened up. Since then I've only been out at night a couple times, and it worked fine. Should I get a set of those Delrin bushings and do a little preventative maintenance, or just wait for it to fail on a more regular basis?

Also, I noticed that my left headlight has a crack in the glass and is quite a bit dimmer than the right light. Actually, I'm pretty disappointed with the stock light output. I just ordered a set of sealed beam conversion hardware with high output 90W halogen bulbs from AutoOptiks. $85 delivered beats Ecklers and Mid-America. Anybody have any experience with conversion kits? How do you like the results?

That is the sign. I heard you can use 3/8 fuel line instead and it suppose to be even better.

Yes, I wouldn't give it more then 50 open/close cycles.
More then likely probably be alot less.
