It can be done, but there are numerous ways to screw it up. If it isn't set up just right, it will howl. Then you have to tear it down again to fix it.
It's one of those jobs where you have to ask yourself, "do I want to learn a new skill", or "do I just want to get the job done".

If you're not going to do this job repeatedly, you may want to turn it over to an expert.

If you just want to get the job done, find a pro to do it, and make sure he does a lot of them, and will stand behind his work, No, "they all sound like that" B.S. excuses.

Default rearend

I removed the rear axle housing and mailed it to marc haibeck, he changed the gears for $850 if i remember correctly. i then re-installed the unit back in the car.it wasn't too bad of a job getting the unit in and out.i wouldn't mess with installing gears if you have never done it before.4:10 's were installed and it was one of the best mods i ever did.

That's a good deal. Marc Haibeck is one of the best.
