ZR1 Coil pack which one can I use??
Hi is there any specs on coil packs that I can use for my 1990 ZR1 ?? I found that MSD makes a coil pack for the gm cars from 1984 to 1994 in general can I also use these in my car or do I need a special one made for my car. Thanks

I have a full set of Screamin' Deamon coils I am willing to sell. $125 shipped.
You can also go to autozone or pepboys, etc. The ZR-1 coils were also used on some pontiac 6 cylinder - I forget which one. Their computer knows, though. They will most likely only have 3 in stock (for the 6 cylinder).

If I remember right Autozone also offers Accell coil packs for the LT5. Anybody given them a try? 84 CF 91 ZR1

The accel units are said to be very high quality, as are the OEM units. The Screamin Demon units are known to crack and fail - be warned!

Thanks Dwight, if I ever need a set I might suit up with the Accells. I've used their products before without any issues in other cars. So far the old 91 has 35k on it without a plenum pull and seems to run just fine. Like my old grandmother said "leave well enough alone." 84 CF 91 ZR1

Thanks For all the info I was able to get the OEM from my local dealer for about $ 50 bucks each.

Less than 2500 miles on them. The are not cracked - they work fine. The only thing "wrong" with them is I wrote the numbers 1-8 next to the appropriate terminals with a sharpie marker. The stock set on my new engine is working fine and these are just collecting dust.

I've been running the Screamin Demon coils for 3 years now with no problems. I suspect that the cracking problem is an isolated case that has been overexposed. We did a shadetree mechanic comparison with stock vs Screamin demons by pulling a plug wire on each and watching the arc. For what it's worth the Screamin Demon arc was much longer than the stocker.
