Questions, help please. C-5 calipers to 1991 ZR1?
Got a great deal on frt. C-5 calipers. A few questions. Is this upgrade worthwhile? A while back I thought someone referred to a website offering the adapter brackets for this change, does anyone recall who it was? I also am aware that VetteBrakes offers these parts too (waiting for prices). Will the C-5 set up fit within the '91 OEM wheels or do I need to go to A-Molds (currently a budget buster)? Any insight or experience that you be able to share would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance for your help and time responding. :D

You will either have to upgrade to A-molds or another rim that will clear the face of the caliper, or use spacers.
I skipped the upgrade and went with a aftermarket company after seeing several C5 calipers being spread under high loads at the track.

Thanks for the responses on IM. I accidently (dislexia?) deleted them with my mouse before I could get past the first couple of lines and missed all the good advice. DUH!! I would be very appreciative if any of you could try again. Fumbling around, Thanks JOHN

Try Ebay or DRM.
I hope you get your quote from VetteBrakes.
My experience with them was not good at all.
My experience was as follows:
Met at Ecklers fall show - asked for pricing. Got a phone call back saying that they were like $550 for the adapters. Told them that couldn't be the right price, they said they would check into it and get back to me -- never heard back from them.
Saw them again at another show and they agreed that was not the right price but I never did get a price at the show.
Decided to give them a shot on some rear rotors, called and it was next to impossible to talk to anyone, got put on hold several times, every time the phone rang the receptionist would leave me and go to the other call - this happend about 4 times. They told me no tech people were there and that I should talk to someone. I left a message for the owner to call me first thing in the morning -
never heard back, ordered them next afternoon, and the sales guy told me he wasn't sure if they were in stock but if they were they would be at the front counter in morning. Heard back from owner finally, told him everything was taken care of at this point. I followed up to make sure they did have my rotors ready since my mechanic was taking his lunch hour to pick them up. When he got there, it was mass confusion and he wasted his lunch hour trying to pick up two rotors that were paid for in advance.
The only reason I even went through with the purchase at that point was I needed them by the next morning for the install.
They are a huge company and I'm sure other people have had good experiences but my experience was awful. I would not buy from them again.
Customer service needs to be improved and you need some additional help on the telephones.

I hate to give a company bad feedback but that experience was just awful.
All I wanted the first time was some adapters and the second time some basic Sport Slotted Rotors- It's not rocket science.

Here are two web sites dating back to the talk on CF. Superior Chevy doesn't sound like the GREAT place it used to be to buy parts but still okay. Their site is listed for the comprehesive list of required items from the previous parts guy (the way it used to be).

This is the bracket made by Gene at electro-dynamics:

Hope this helps. Ted
