Hello-
I may be able to get a set of Jeals, if not, I will get the Stainless Works. Here is my application: '95 ZR-1, Top End Ported, B&B Tri-Flows with "X" Pipe, NO Cats :D
Any comments on either of these brands on my car? Pro's/Cons etc?
:chevy Thanks, Bob
I know I am stupid if I werent I would have sent my car to that Jim Milsted guy that lives in Dallas; doesnt Lurker know him. But, what did Jeal do for the ZR-1 and why is his work so special. Illuminate me guys
Anybody have a picture of the Jeal headers off the car ? Would like to see where the superior engineering is on these... No doubt Jeal & Sons know their stuff and have designed a well thought out product...
We saw pictures here of the Stainless Works headers a while back... when they 1st came out... where is that thread ?
BTW... I have a new set of SW ready to go... already hot coated...
Nice pictures Jeff... I guess it comes down to the installation... The Jeal headers look polished or chrome... which is it ? Do the Jeals still need to be coated ? All these headers are made from good grades of stainless steel, correct ? What would make one brand better than the other ?
Re: ***HEADERS *** Jeal or Alspaugh (zr11990broken)
Jeal was a calibrations Engineer working for Lotus during the development of the LT5

My best guess is he has made a name for himself and charges more... like our beloved John Lingenfelter did...
"""Perhaps""" it is based on the cost of doing business in the UK... kind of like the price of petrol there... 3 or 4 times higher than ours... and it rubs off on the overall cost involved... Maybe it is just what the market will tolerate... who knows...

Re: ***HEADERS *** Jeal or Alspaugh (Bigvmaxx)
Yes importing them does cost a bit more with fees. And yes there is a little bit of a name recognition. But you look at the quality of his airbox, and other parts he does not cheap out and over charge.
Nick (ZZZZZR1) and I will post a review of the Jeal header install. We should be doing them in the next couple of weeks. He assisted on installing my Stainless Work headers.
Geoff is also very passionate about the ZR1 ,owns one himself and loves to drive it.
He also makes time for people ,no matter who or where your from and will explain things to you without getting impatient,, which is good from my point of veiw:lol:
Ive suggested that a few guys from the vette scene go on up to Geoffs workshop in a couple of saturdays time for a bit of a get together,,No problem said Geoff your all welcome(he will probably make the coffee aswell)......thats priceless.
Remember that they are not American made, but manufactured in Britain.
For those of you who are either Irish, or believe in freedom, then considering how the British still occupy Northern Ireland should be taken into account when deciding between the two products.
For me it is a simple choice when I get a ZR-1, SW's
American made, costs hundreds less, and is not from Britain. Who could ask for more

If I wanted to listen to your political BS, I would rather venture into the politics section of the forum. Keep it there and not here.
And if this is so important to you, then one, why did you buy the ZR-1 since Lotus designed the motor. Which is in England. THe Transmission is a ZF.... my god money may be pushed out the back door to some secret Nazi camp. Misc. Other parts are made in Japan, who bombed pearl harbor...
