Do both pumps run all the time or does one run all the time and the other only runs when called upon? Also, is anyone running two aftermarket pumps, like the Walbro's?

Re: Dual fuel pump questions (ANTI VENOM)
Both pumps run at start up when the motor is cold. When it reaches 160/170 degrees it shuts off pump #2.
With the power key at full power the secondary pump is primed and ready to go. All it needs is the computer signal to start pumping fuel when demanded.
It seems a little weird that the pump could start up and start pumping fast enough to meet the demands of the engine. It obviously works though. I ask, because I thought of using a second pump to feed a turbo fed engine on boost only. This way I get plenty of fuel and don't heat the fuel excessively. I may be able to find a ZR-1 set-up for mounting the pumps.
the staged fuel pumps is a great way to allow the car to reach full power, but only give it the volume needed for cruzin, UNLESS one of them goes bad at the most inopportune time.
I wonder this, if the secondary pump quits with the car "code" and shut off the secondaries???
if the primary quits the car will stop, which is a hassle, but better than leaning out.
If I remember reading correctly, if the secondary pump does not turn on when the car is started, it will throw a code and not let the secondaries turn on. Also, while the power key is on, the pump is monitored and the ECM will shut the fun down if it sees a problem with it.
I need to look again and see if it actually monitors pressure. Shoot, there's like 10 pages of troubleshooting the secondaries in the manual!
Dwight took me for a ride in the Jeal 368 back before it was tuned. We went from spitting fire at some Nissan who thought he had something for us, to running on the primaries only in the space of about 20 mins.
If the oxygen sensor goes lean for 5 consecutive seconds at WOT, then SES is set, and secondaries are killed. :seeya
What code will be set if this happen?
I am curious because I had a code 54 set this summer when my car stumbled big time at wot, but I didnīt see the ses light com on. I think secondarys shut off but all seemed fine after a couple of minutes....
I have changed both fuel pump relays, valet key connection checked.
Think I will change pumps too. This happened only 2 times this summer but one time too much during a race....
