Just a little report about my new Jeal headers. The headers fit perfectly just like they were factory. I made NO modifications not even to the oil dipstick tube, everything just bolted right up. The car has no backfires, which was a relief to me because I would have found that very annoying. I was running Borla with a Dr. Gas x-pipe at first and there were no backfires and no resonance to speak of, in fact the car was reasonably quiet and nice to ride in. I have switched to a B&B 3" with resonator, there is still no backfire and no resonance the car is still fairly quiet. It's not as hush hush quiet as it was stock but makes the sound it would have if it was built in 1965. I have nothing but praise for the fit and finish of the Jeal headers, but the NEW B&B 3" system is awful for fit, I have had to trim pipe length and slit, bend, and weld pipes so that the tips would align with the cutouts in the rear. The B&B has been a pain in the _SS, but I still like them

Good to know. I'll be assisting in a install on a 94 car in the next month or so.
Thanks for the heads up on the B&B. I just got mine yesterday and noticed immediately that the pipes don't fit too well just doing an inventory. I called B&B and the guy told me to go get professional install as it is difficult. I thought is was a simple bolt on in my garage but will take it to my friend's muffler shop so I don't struggle on my back. Sounds like a job for lift and all the right tools. So much for bolt on. Darn, maybe I should have gone with Corsa.
I'll probably be like you and still love the B&B regardless of the hassle to install. Thanks again for the heads up on your experience. :banghead:

First congrats on the install Monte, second could you please tell me what prom chip your running. I get the backfire from time to time. I'm running Brian A's headers through the Flowmaster System the car sounds awesome, but the occasional backfire is annoying. Thinking of replacing the resonator with an X-pipe to see if that helps. TIA 84 CF 91 ZR-1
My chip is more or less stock. I burned my own, but all I really changed was fan turn-on points and to disable CAGS, fueling and spark are stock. Seems that some cars backfire and that some don't. I have heard that Heibeck can burn you a chip to stop the backfire.
Good to hear the instal went so well. I'm looking for a set of Jeals myself. I have the B&B with the X pipe, I absolutely love them. I installed myself and bolted it up in about 40 minuets then drove to the muffler shop & simply had the joints spotted to hold perfect allighnment. :D
I also installed the B&B triflow 3" exhaust on my vette and had one heck of a time getting it to fit.. I too have a browning toward the rear of the exhaust... I do not have a ZR-1 anymore, but at one time I had a black 90 with plenum insulators, a chip, and the ram air setup.. What a GREAT car... nothing sounds like a ZR-1 on the gas!!! Anyway, now I have a 91 vette with a blown big block.. check out the pictures in the C4 forced induction forum under Procharged Big BLock. I haven't got it on the road yet since it's winter in Indy, but hopefully it will provide the same types of thrills that my old ZR-1 had... I miss that car greatly...
