Re: shift light (sultan)
Do you have an aftermarket chip? I believe the ones from Doug Rippie (maybe others too) disable the shift light. If so I think it can be programmed back in. It just seems like a pain to install something that is already there.
Good Luck,
Mike.

I'm not sure there is a "best", but I installed a Harlan Shift light in the upper air vent as youmention. It uses the stock tach output, therefore there is not a need for an MSD unit etc as you mention.

Raptor owns! :yesnod: I think it's definitely one of the smallest and most well designed lites on the market. High quality & good looks to boot!

I actually got the idea to install the shift light in the air vent from a guy on the Grand Sport forum. He had installation pictures and tips on the whole process. I will try to see if the site info is still available. If not, I can take a picture of my after installed unit and some tips. There is a white wire that comes from the ignition system under the plenum that is the tach feed wire. Ground wire was taken from ground source under the dash.

The factory shift light is for fuel economy ( :lolg: ).
Reread you owner's manual. It is not for economy. The factory shift light is programmed to illuminate for shifts maxmizing performance, NOT fuel economy. This is not a Cavalier.

The 95's shift light does not illuminate from the factory. The only light that does for shifting is the d@mn 1-4 skip light.
