SGC TT ZR1 - BOOSTAMUV!!
man I am so excited I can hardly type. Aaron and I just talked for over an hour and the TT ZR1 project is beginning this weekend and in a few months you will see the dawn of the Stage 1 with somewhere around 550 rwhp and a very attractive price tag (likely cheaper than the LPE C5 stage 1). this is a miracle considering the LPE zr1 TT cars started north of 50k!!!
please be patient, I will try and keep everyone posted as details emerged as I will be lucky enough to help aaron out with some ideas on this project, and I will be asking all of you for input as well.
the combined experience of Aaron's team is AWESOME, but I learned long ago that everyone has ideas worth considering.
this will be the realization of a 4 year old dream for me, an affordable TT ZR1!!!
please stay tuned and give aaron breathing room to get this project done so the final "proof of concept" project can be completed and we will provide details along the way for all those interested in getting their cars done.
the stage II target is well north of 700 rwhp with a RELIABLE LT5 TT that will provide the desired silky street manners and have longer claws than any of the NA beasts that can be built for similar fold.
man, this car is going to be an ABSOLUTE KILLER. for those of you lucky enough to take the plunge, the wait will be more than worth it.
wait till you see the torq curves on these monsters.
2004 is going to be a VERY exciting year.
PERFORMANCE UNDER PRESSURE - BOOST A MUV!!!

hi all,
as soon as the prototype is completed Aaron will start taking orders for stg I cars and likely build a stg II prototype too.
I will be doing my car in about a year or so (probably next winter).
I will be in touch with aaron often and as soon as pricing and details are available I will post on the http://www.lt5registry.net website.
this car is going to be amazing. can't wait!! :flag

Re: SGC TT ZR1 - BOOSTAMUV!! (IMXCITD)
somebody buy my 93 so I can afford the stg II!!!
I appreciate any dialog and ideas you have. ask away and I will do my best to answer and get the ideas flowing. we know quite a bit but are interested in a few things.
should the car continue to use the secondary actuators (stock ecm can be programmed to eliminate them, code is available for the 90, but will need to be developed for 91 up)
did LPE use cast or tubular exh manifolds. we are planning to use high quality SS manifolds with some extra bracing to snug turbos up close to the side of the engine near bell housing.
can anyone give details about the factory LT5 TT project, cams??? bin code (jeal or jim milstead may have it)
also interested in turbo options,, LPE uses the T28 for "low boost" operation and the T3/4 hybrid turbos might be right for the Stg II. turbos have compressor maps that provide the efficiency range that they operate best (flow, boost, ect....)
tips for "high compression" fuel and timing maps. the LPE boosts the c5 with around 5-6 psi with 10-1 cr. the LT5 is around 11-1, but probably has a much better combustion chamber and a beaut of a dished piston, it's a very detonation resistant motor.
for the stg II, I am pursuing the following.
8.5 or 9-1 compression, forged pistons, bigger turbos, bigger injectors, up to 14+ psi with good reliability (we run 17-20 on pump gas with a "less" efficient turbo buick)
really turning up the wick for high octane fuel.
pros and cons of aftermarket computers and the possibility of using the aftermarket computer for "secondary injector" operation only.
keeping the secondary actuators (if used) working properly under boost (the lt5 vacuum pump will help here!!)
maybe even use an aftermarket computer for EVERYTHING to allow easier operation under a variety of adj boost options. with the factory computer a new cal will likely be needed for each boost level.
we appreciate the suggestions!!!
many options can be incorporated and feedback and ideas from the LT5 experts and customers alike is very appreciated!!!
any input will help shape the future of the product and lead to a more successful implementation at a lower cost which is what we all would benefit from.
thanks for any discussion!!!!

the LSV is going in for the stg II + treatment, and the $$$ from the 93 sale will fund it.
I can't afford to keep both zr1s or I would definitely do just that!! :hurray:

the LPE stage 1 c5's are Stock bottem ends (pistons rods, crank, block). but I bleave 6.0L truck heads are used to drop the CR
