3.73 and 3.92 are the available gearsets I believe.

I would rethink gears if you are doing the 422 engine. You will need some stout tires to hook in the 1/4

What events are you going in for with the standing mile? I know that totb do a standing 1.2 miles at an airfield in Yorkshire. I hope to be there next year all being well.

Are you in a club in the UK?

I plan to use Yokohama's,they are street legal but only just with a very soft compound but not much of a tread, can't remember what type they are called.

The event is"ten of the best"and is based on 1/4 mile runs ,1.2/5 mile runs and a track course.
The event is 3 class's ,front wheel drive,4 wheel drive& rear wheel drive.

Around 120+ cars enter and they try to get it down to the top 10 cars(street legal) in the UK,based on points for each event, best 1/4mile ,highest top speed in 1.2/5mile(standing start) and quickest time round track circuit.

I would like 4.10s for the 1/4 but it would limit the top speed run ,as for rear wheel drive the highest top speed is around 180mph and i just wonder if 3.7s would be of any advantage.

Yes the event is Elvington Airfield in Yorshire, and there are a handfull of modified Zr1s planning to make the trip next year including mine, thats why i am busy trying to get the car ready, aswell as more power i want to get the car as light as i possibly can, this year the Vipers made a big impression(but i am sure we can do better). :yesnod:

Robert are you based in Scotland? do you have a Z?,we have a strong folowing in the UK for vettes and the Corvette club UK has around 700 members.

Dont miss Elvington next year there are most of the fastest cars in the UK all in one place  :) :)

I believe the 3.73 ratio Dana Super-Duty Viper gears will be the best overall compromise for your application.

Cliff,

Let me know what you do on the gears, Sounds like the Viper 373's might solve the Dana 33/373 problem Geoff spoke of Saturday. :smash:

Looks like this is my last trip to the UK. Found out last night that the project moves to San Francisco in October

Good luck in SF, i will send you a copy of Elvington TOB2 as soon as i get a copy.
Denise came home last night and mentioned that she had found return flights to Florida for January for 300 pounds ,she felt quite proud she had got the price down so low, looks like you did a good job talking her round.

Soon as i have done some more reasearch on the gears i will let you know,i think the general consensus from others at the moment is i might not need them.
