Default CAGS Defeat????

I just HAVE to get rid off the 1-4 shift thing. What is the best method, and is it as simple to do as on a C5. (Sorry to mention C5 on this forum!!!)

Best,
Karl

Yep, it is simple, just unplug from under the car. You can buy a plug, to plug up the connectors or just put electrical tape over the ends to keep the dirt out.

I would just buy the plug for like $15.00 from ecklers, mad or the like.

Keeps the plug clean and you won't have to stare at the 1 to 4 shift light all the time.

I may be wrong, but unless the ZR-1 is different from a regular C4 then defeating CAGS via the plug method will do nothing to change the light - it'll still come on. If you reprogram the computer though you can change the parameters such that CAGS never even tries to activate, and no light.

On the ZR-1 I have a DRM Chip so I don't get the 1 to 4 deal.

On my 92 I had Cags plug and no light lit up so who knows.

On the 93, I have a cags plug which I havent plugged in yet--- I guess I will find out soon enough.
