If you are looking for a 1990 Comp Yellow you can locate one.
It took me awhile and I had to travel to California to puchase mine but I was finally able to locate one.
There were 23 Comp Yellows produced.
Good Luck in your search!

Re: THE ONLY YELLOW 1990 ZR1 (CorvetteSC)
Correct me if I'm wrong. This idea of "only" X number of colors made is not because GM wanted to limit the number made. It's because some colors are less in demand resulting in fewer produced.
Don't get me wrong because I really like yellow on a Vette and I don't think there's any color that's outright ugly. But I really think somebody is going to buy a Vette based on a color they like, NOT because it's a rare color.
And if I could, I'd have one of every color made. :jester

Then couple that with most every dealer was asking $10,000 to $30,000 over sticker for one. They didn't want to take a chance on a color they were not sure of. This is why colors like Comp. Yellow/ Admiral Blue/ Dark Red met. will fetch a premium. The demand this there just not enough control over the ordering of them.

Re: THE ONLY YELLOW 1990 ZR1 (ZR-71)
Zr-71,
GM does limit certain colors. In the case of the 1990 ZR-1 the color was photosensitive to light so they stopped producing the comp yellows.
GM picks certain colors and only produces so many. Some paint byproducts are more expensive to get rid of as well. GM actually gets a premium in the new vettes for the yellow something like $750.
Options make Vettes worth $ not usually colors, however colors and rarity do affect the value from time to time

Re: THE ONLY YELLOW 1990 ZR1 (xlr8nflorida)
I do remember reading of discontinued colors because of production problems and that could account for some decrease. I still think if a color was really in demand, dealers would order and GM would fix any problems to satisfy orders. :smash:
And next to Black, my 2nd choice would be Competition Yellow (w/Blk int) :yesnod:

Thank you. Someday I would like a 90 CY/BLK in my stable. Meanwhile I will wait and save :)
