Default Trying to track down my Step Dad's ZR-1

Hello all, I tried searching but couldn't find a related post, but I'm trying to track down my step dad's 92 ZR-1 that was sold after he passed. I'm at a point in my life where I have some money and would really love to have that car in remembrance of him and all the memories I had in it too. Obviously I'd have to find the owner and hope they would be willing to sell for a reasonable amount. I did check the Nation Insurance Crime Bureau and it hasn't been stolen or totaled so that's a good start.

I have the VIN, Haibeck did is magic on it a long time ago so it does have some uniqueness to it that might make it stick out or for people to easily have recognized it without knowing the vin. It would have been sold just outside of Kansas City, Missouri.

That being said, is there an easy way to find a vehicle by VIN or would something like CarFax just give me a state registration and that's it? Maybe a post or forum to put a vin and pictures? Any help

Pics below. hopefully they dont come across as big as they look below.

Dyno day getting it after the Haibeck work.

Haibeck 350

Me with it in high school.

You can do a search thru state DMV databases to see when it was last registered.

I'd start with an inquiry to Marc .... I can think of no easier starting point. You can ID your Step-Father and the car, that should maybe do. Knowing the VIN you might just do an inquiry here 'Looking for 1992 ZR-1 # ...... or at the ZR-1 Net Registry with the same information. I'd think having the Haibeck 350/500 package it might be an easy find.

I remember a white 92 with tan interior, chrome 5 spokes and a white Haibeck 500/510 going up for sale a few years ago. If it’s the same car, it came to the ZR-1 Gathering in Bowling Green around 2018 and I talked with the owner for a little bit. He is active on the ZR-1 Registry; you may want to try the forums there or on the Registry Facebook page.

The white engine is stunning in the white car.

Hi, I'm in the Kansas City area, but certainly have not seen a '92 white/white Z around in this area. C4s in general stick out to me, especially ZR-1s. If I see it anywhere, I'll let you know. But sounds like some good clues above!
