Just bought my first mod for the '90
Should be here next week.........with the resonator, it shouldn't drone much right? I like the looks of the BB the best, as well as the sound.......just didn't care too much for the drone on my '94, but it had the X pipe with no resonator......I'm hoping to be completely satisfied with this exhaust. It had a Flowmaster steel exhaust on it, but it was way old, and was full of holes. $1625.00 seemed like a good price to me. Thoughts?

I hope the new BB doesn’t drone like the older version. My 90 is almost unbearable at certain rpms while driving with the BB exhaust. Good luck. I’m about to rip mine off and get the Corsa.

I’ve heard the B&B fusion eliminates the drone with its dual mode. Of course that puts you closer to $3,000 spent than what you paid for that version.

My first exhaust upgrade was to B+B when I bought my first ZR. That was 12 yrs ago. And yeah it droned. Not saying that the new version does. If money was no object, the Fusion system would be the way to go. I currently have a custom system made up of SW Xpipe, 3” SS tubing, Watson headers, and DynoMax Ultraflow muffs using C6 NPP tips. Thinking about trying things down and wonder if my now 10 yo muffs may be used out w sound deadening blown out of the cases.

....I have zr1's.....one has a Corsa system and no drone and pretty quiet until you put your foot into it....would be great for the road........other z came with headers, cats and 3 inch exhaust piping and 14 inch mufflers. it was really loud and droned and was loud (did I already say droned and loud)....First I put 2 inline 20 inch resonators/mufflers...Drone went down about 20%...still toooo loud. I purchased 2 18 inch magna flow mufflers to replace the 14 inch ones in the rear. That made a big difference . I also put the stock tips on... Now the neighbor 2 houses down doesn't hear me start the car up. lol

Jim,
We have B&B mufflers on our 89 track car and the 91 ZR-1 both are the 2nd design IIRC. The Z has watson LT's (no cats), random tech 3" mid-system with X, into the B&B's. Sounds great to me and I have no issues with it. Let us know what you think of your setup once installed!

I did dodge a bit of a bullet, as mine also had a flowmaster system on it, where they changed the passenger side cat and cut off the flange, to the newer style clamp bracket. If I had ordered the system for a '90, it would not have worked........my Flowmaster always sounded good, but alas it is full of holes...and I never particularly liked the way it looked as it was not stainless.
