Default I am now the owner of a 1994 ZR-1

Been a member here for over 20 years, and never owned a Corvette. That day finally arrived. Car arrived on the transport truck today. Shipped out from south FL yesterday morning. Only drove it around the block, as I'm waiting on the title (should arrive today), and will get it registered on Monday.

Whenever a 94 came up for sale, it would be crazy expensive because it had almost no miles on it. This one has 58k on it. I'd want to drive the car anyway, so I wasn't looking for a car that's been moth-balled.

Needs a couple cosmetic items in the interior, such as the cupholder lid hinge is messed up, and the window gasket at the bottom of the window is cracked from age. Previous owner just installed a new rear hatch gasket, and it was all I could do to get the damn thing closed. Gonna keep that hatch closed for like a month to compress that gasket a little. Has the typical Bose speaker issue where they don't work the first 10 minutes. I'll just swap in a double din radio and put in new speakers...eliminate that weird Bose stuff. I'll keep the original stuff in case the next owner wants it to look all original.

Not going to do anything to the car other than enjoy it and drive it. Midlife crisis time is officially here!

Congrats to you for getting your ZR-1.
Not too many ‘94’s nor Yellow ones

Enjoy it.

Looks like GM only built 243 ZR-1s in 94 and 95 (93 I think too). And only 44 of them were yellow. I'm going off of memory from the ZR-1 registry site.

I'll have to make the road trip to Bowling Green to take a photo at the museum. I've been to the museum twice, but never as a Corvette owner.

Welcome to the madness.
Truly a great group of owners here, very knowledgeable group.
If you haven't already, join up over on the ZR1.net website, theyve got forums over there with a lot of owners who participate regularly.
Love your big Banana, pretty rare color.
I can't decide if I would want your black interior, or a white interior......I

I wouldn't want a white interior. Hard to keep clean. Black does show scratches though.

I saw that yellow 94 for sale, I thought it looked great! Congrats on the purchase! Love the yellow. My 92 zr-1 has a white interior, I love it.

Nice looking car! For 1993, 1994 and 1995 448 ZR-1s were built each year. GM was rationing the remaining engines, the last of which were assembled in1993. Of those years, 13 '93s were Competition Yellow, 43 '94s and 49 '95s. If you haven't already, it is a great idea to join the ZR-1 Net Registry and visit its forum. Huge knowledge base and source of information and camaraderie. Probably the nearest ZR-1 expert to you is Aaron Scott of South Georgia Corvettes, but there are several others around the country with probably the most knowledgeable being Marc Haibeck (www.zr1specialist.com) outside of Chicago. If you run into issues and have questions that you can't first get answered from the forum, Marc is always available by email or phone to help folks out . And this year the ZR-1 Net Registry resumed its annual trek to Bowling Green in May for a Gathering. Not huge -- got about 60 cars this year -- but I recommend you try to make it next year, as it is lots of fun and good to get to know fellow ZR-1 owners. Enjoy your "new" Corvette! --Bob

Welcome to the group and hope you will join the ZR-1 Net Registry, best bang for the buck! GM built 448 ZR-1's in 1994 (and same number of 448 units in 1995). In 1994 they built 32 ZR-1's in Competition Yellow with Black interior.
We will be at Corvettes at Carlisle at the end of August and hope you can join us.

Drop me a note if you're driving up to Bowling Green. I'm an hour and a half south - on your way. You're welcome to come stop by.
I also recommend you join ZR-1 net registry!

Drive it like you stole it and enjoy every mile. Congrats. I’ll second the ZR1registry. Its mostly owners and a lot of knowledge there. Great resource for our beloved ZR-1.

Congrats on pulling the trigger. Beautiful car that should give you plenty of big smiles every time you look at it. I was considering purchasing it last month and had several phone conversations with Ron about it. Great guy and was very honest about the car. I couldn't make it work for me to get it to NY and stay within what I wanted to spend. So I'm still in search of either a yellow 86 Pace Car or 93-95 yellow ZR-1 to park next to my yellow 17 Z06 convertible.

DMV isn't open until Tuesday. Gotta wait a little longer to drive the car on the roads. It's only 36 more hours (who's counting?), but I want my tag now!!! I'll slap an antique tag on it, like I have on my 280ZX.

Congratulations, and beautiful car! I watched that one for sale, as well (I spend an inordinate amount of time looking at C4s for sale... ). I really like that one. I'm a little partial... allow me to express my appreciation for it with a picture.

Enjoy it!

Mike

Great car. Looking forward to hearing about your enjoyment. Seems your thread started a yellow revolution. I'm partial too.
