Re: 415 crank on ebay (bill mcdonald)
Be careful bidding on auctions with sellers with 0 feedback. I recently got burned for $300 and the auction looked legit like this. Dave 90zr1 #952

Re: 415 crank on ebay (David Haag)
And with the reserve already being met at $885 I would be very cautious. I mean why would anyone at LPE put that low a reserve on a crank that usually goes for 5k?

I would be very careful. Sonny Bryant has only made 5 415 cranks and they were all done in March of this year. I have one in my 415. They all went for $5,000. I would be very surprised if this crankwent for anything less than $4,000. Jerry Cruise (sp?) cranks are going for $6,000.
My Sonny Bryant crank is the first one in a 415, I think. However, I know LPE bought some of the Sonny Bryant Crankshafts.
Edit: This auction looks legit. I wonder if they are selling some stuff to pay medical expenses for John L.

This is an email from LPE:
Hello Joel
Thank you for your interest in my auction. It has been in the shop for a couple years, it has dyno time on it. It will make the winner a sweet crankshaft. Good luck in the auction
Thank You

Is this one of the 5 Sonny Bryant 4.125" crankshafts that were made earlier this year? Also, has this crank ever been installed in an engine?

Guess I'm part of the bidding party. I'm going to have LPE build me a 368 in the spring and thought a 415 might work too! :smash:

I didn't bid one time. Just checked the validity of it and it look like a legit auction with a legit crank.
I hope you weren't the guy that had the $885 bid, if so, sorry. Just responding to the above post.

No worries Joel - it wasn't me - I was considering bidding later today, and storing it for a 415 later - but no problems - I can just go to plan B, which is look for a nice used 415 and get the whole car one fine day!!!!

I agree, I don't know who did it but someone bid twice within 3 minutes of each other and the price went up from 885 to 1325. Why do that this early in the auction. Any bids right now are just bidding against yourself.

Re: 415 crank on ebay (DDSLT5)
It still is a great deal right now. Compared to a brand new one you can still save major bucks if you are going to build a 415. Who knows, the buyer might want to sell it right away for a small profit and you still win. This is the single most expensive part of building a 415. With the cams coming in a close second.

Paul B. was the high bidder. I never knew he was interested in a 415".
Sure hope he sells those Alcon brakes now. :D

She sold for $3750.00 - still not a bad deal, but a far cry from $1000.00 . I feel for ya Ron - you and I had the same idea - but I'm willing to bet that you'd have executed a whole lot sooner than me. No I didn't even bother bidding - there'll be other opportunities!! What is it about more power that makes us morons? Let me go start the beast........ oh yeah, now I remember!!! :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:

I just ordered some new wheels and tires for another project or I might have been tempted to jump in. Too many wants and not enough dough, though. :(
