Default Anyone know anyone in the northeast who specialize in the LT5?

Reason I ask is because if I do keep my 91 Z (posted some photos of my Z #428) I would like to port match my heads to my plenum and injector housings which are already ported.....

I sent my plenum air horn and I/Hs out to Pete and he did a great job at porting....Highly recommend him.....Only thing is Petes shop is in Chicago and Im here in NY and the motor has to come out of the car to do the work......Could I drive the car there and leave it? Sure I can but its not the easiest thing to do and I dont have the know how to remove the motor and take off the heads and ship them to him ( which I would if I had the know how)..

So,with that does anyone know someone they can recommend to port the heads and maybe a little cam work and tune?

Here's a closer option: http://www.evolution-motorsport.com/services.html

Dempsey is a stand-up guy who just opened shop in the DC area and is well-known by the local ZR-1 owners in this area.

I don't think that the Vette Docs are working on LT5 anymore, but it might would be worth a call/email just to confirm.

If you decide to go with Evolution, keep in mind that Dempsey is at the MR4/C4 Gathering events this week (which is where I'd like to be myself), so he might be a little more difficult to contact.

You're not looking for a 368 package. Correct?

Yes the Vette doctors still work on ZR1's. Dennis just did an overhaul of my Callaway Aerobody Supernatural CR1 490 last Summer. I highly recommend them. I was extremely pleased.

Great to hear that... several years ago they worked on my '90 Turquoise (PO had them do the porting, exhaust, gears, tune, etc.) and they did excellent work. Good to have reliable options when it comes to service.

its not so much finding someone to port heads right its geting the cams timed right and making sure its reassemled correctly tuning etc.
Spend a few hundred if you have to and ship the car and do the heads up right. Spending good $ just to portmatch not worth it.

I would recommend that you send the heads & injector housings to Greg VanDeventer for the port work, regardless of who you ultimately choose to do the mechanical work.
