Default General Info

Hi all, I'm a former C5Z06 owner, and was wondering if there is a sticky of general info on C4's, like certain years to avoid, quirks/problems, etc?
Thanks!

I assume you are talking ZR-1s (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995 ZR-1s)?

If so....there is no certain year to avoid
Stock with original injectors...Replace Injectors.
There is a bit more in my Signature

Isn't only the 90s which need updated injectors?

I think 90-92 can use New SS Injectors as the Injectors are one item that just start to crap out after years of service. I replaced Injectors on both 1990 and 1991s for example. Just check the Resistance and you might see a few Injectors out of spec (I think 12-13 ohms) on any year ZR-1....but let the boys who have the 93s, 94s and 95s respond to that question.

Marc Haibeck suggests "When the ’90 – ’92 injectors were designed it was not known that ethanol would be utilized as an additive in fuel. Today ethanol is a popular fuel additive. Ethanol causes the solenoid coil shorting problem. Rochester Products improved the ’93 - ’95 fuel injectors for ethanol compatibility"

What are the symptoms of bad injectors? My 94 has 65k miles and she runs fine.

No, not specific to ZR1's, I'm thinking about a decent driver to fool around with, no more than $10,000.

first it goes rich, then lean, then if they're bad enough you'll hear a knocking at idle.
