Default Miles

Sorry if this has been asked before but a search didn't find anything and i'm really curious.

I'm not a ZR-1 owner (yet) but am currently haggling with a guy over one near me.

Anyway, I am curious as to how many miles you all have on your cars? I've seen posts range from 2,000 miles to 100k+. I've also heard about the legendary reliability of of these motors.

Also I've seen the 100k+ list on the net registry. Quite a few over 100k!

One I'm looking at is a 90 with 18k miles.

Thanks in advance!

Bought a 90 # 334 with 60K in 01... put about 15K on it. Last I heard 2 owners later the car has seen some maintinance but nothing out of the ordinary.

Owned another 90 and it ran great but I didn't keep it. The next owner starting in 2003 had one little problem with it years later. A small screw fell out that holds the secondary butterfly in place. ( 2 per butterfly ) no damage... fished out the screw and still running strong last i heard. Other than that... another normal strong running Z !

My 91 # 661 has served me well since 50K and now shows about 135K after 13 years of no regrets throttle action!

These are marine grade motors and can last a very long time if taken care of properly. Pick up a copy of Heart of the Beast and pick through various articles on the ZR-1 net.

My white '91 will hit 100k today (driving to a local maintenance day with a few other owners in the area) and my turquoise '90 has a tick under 60k. Never had a major problem with either one. Good luck with the purchase!

I had a '92 I had purchased with 97,000 miles and sold it with over 112,000 miles. Additionally I had a '95 that I purchased with 12,000 miles and sold with 17,000 miles.

The motor is very reliable, and it all comes down to maintenance and condition of the vehicle.

Good luck with your search.

HA! yea I thought there would be some overlap, but I wanted the largest sample size possible for my question. Turns out it's worked since I've had a few different folks on both sides!

Thanks for the patience with the stereo questioning, and thanks for all the answers! Glad there are Z's out there being driven regularly!

Purchased my 1994, VIN #010, ZR-1 in 2007 with 46000 miles. Now has 60000 on the clock. Drive about 1000 a year mainly to car shows and cars and coffee. Have '08 Z06 to drive more often.
