Default Another one found a good Home

I posted this on the ZR1 registry but thought I Should update over here. I posted other pictures on here of the car that were sent from the seller. The car has spent the last couple of years in a barn at a farm in CO. I got a really really good deal because it was not running right. I flew from Dallas to Denver last Saturday with 16 new FIC injectors in my luggage. I was excited to finally see the car in person. Looked pretty good but barely ran. I borrowed some tools from the seller and changed all the inkjectors. The car ran better and idled without dyeing but still had a misfire. I started the drive home and dreaded up hill grades because it just would not go. I got home Sunday and on Monday traced the misfire to two cylinders sharing one coil. Put in a new coil and WOW!! This thing is fast! I have a lot of little things to do but it did make it to a show last night. Overall great car but still sorting out a few bugs. Car is a '91, color - Unknown, 42,550 miles, exterior updated to '95. Ugly C5 nose and fuel door badges removed earlier today.

Still can't believe this is a pretty good secret even in the Corvette community.....oh well at least we know.

"Put in a new coil and WOW!! This thing is fast!"

Good color.......another surprising fact is they never made a silver ZR-1.....looks like yours is more grey, but the silver thing always struck me as odd......they would have sold well.

Yes it is grey. Which gray? I have no idea. I am hoping it is an original corvette gray such as spiral gray or Cyber gray.

Congrats on the ZR1. I just started recently looking for one. Where in Lantana do you live? I'm in Sandlin off Bonham.

Looks great and congrats
If that's the original color it's Charcoal Metallic, which is rare as only 417 total were made in '91. Wonder how many were ZR-1's?

Edit: Just went over to the registry. There were only 27 CM color ZR-1's

Thanks, you may have solved the mystery. My car was originally turquoise and had a complete color change. I am not sure what color it is. I did a search and saw some pictures of CM ZR-1's and I suspect the original owner updated the car to look like a '95. The original CM ZR-1 I found online even had the black with silver outline badges like what are on my car. I will get confirmation on the color when I get the front license plate filler and fuel filler panel re-painted. but I believe the original owner may have tried to duplicate a very rare combination.

You may have something there. Surprised nobody on the Registry came up with that...
It sure looks like the GM Charcoal Metallic they used for several years. I had a 86 Z24 Cavalier in that color and it was sharp. If I was ever gonna paint mine that's what it would be...

Silver would have been my color too. The few that were re-painted silver look great. I think this one would look cool with a slightly lighter tone silver "ghost" GS stripe.
