It can be and should be restored, IMO.

I'm not sure that could ever be classified as "restoration". More like recreation. Seriously, what could possibly be reused in any replacement vehicle?

I suggest building a glass floor over the hole w some or all of the vehicles in the sinkhole as a memorial.

That's a pretty cool idea Dominic! All of this is just another page in the history books for these cars.

Maybe it's just me, having been around collision repair since my youth.

I hear folks say how the Spyder could never be put back together and I just laugh. Once the frame work is done and the driveline repaired, the rest is just cosmetics and hanging parts

Once you get into taking it apart, there will be more small things that can be used than one would think. My EX5023 looked at least that bad and there's a lot of things that I used that were original to the car.

The frame can be repaired and there will be many things inside the car to still be used. Frame, Suspension, Wiring, Floor Pan, Nearly all of the underpinnings on that chassis, Driveline, just to mention a few.

Putting it back together doesn't mean that none of it's the same car.
