415" 90 ZR-1 Pictures
I just managed to figure out my Digital camera, the weather is great here today & the beast is looking good, so I thought since many of you have never seen my car, here are some pictures.
I also got an IM from Julio informing me of the C5 drag racing day at Bradenton, looks like I imay have to make my first apperance at the drag strip inthe beast, anyone else want to venture out to Bradenton on 07-13-2002 for some fun?
Have a great weekend.
Kurt.

HOLY COW - that is one stunning looking engine - I have been debating upon whether or not I liked the appearance of lingenfelter's 415 mods to the LT5, but with that finish - it REALLY sets off the engine compartment - absolutely breathtaking - CONGRATULATIONS - you have a beautiful machine. Will John paint it any color - any extra charge? Also - please - how does the beast drive? Still manageable around town? What 1/4 mile times will you turn - i realize that this won't be until next weekend, but don't forget to post them after your runs!! As Jim Carrey said in "Dumb and Dumber" ---- "I LIKE IT ALOT!" :D :D :D
P.S. - Excuse my ignorance - this is probably not a LPE as it doesn't say Lingenfelter on the plenum - who did up this beauty?

Thanks for the nice comments.
I am taking the car out to Bradenton raceway on Saturday, the C5 Corvette guys are having a meet there & i feel like crashing the joint.
Shall we start some s*** about how this 12 year old heavy pig is gonna whoop up on there 2002 Z06's with NOS & Superchargers :-) Yeah, I reckon so.
The motor was built by Bill Kirchoeffer, NOT Lingenfelter, Lingenfelter have Nothing to do with this car. In fact. I am quite certain that there is only one Lingenfelter 415" motor that ever made more power than this car, & that's SW's old white one. Although, i am quite certain, that once all is said and done , it may be a different story.
I'm off to the Dyno again on Friday for some more tuning, i just installed my 2" headers & have a new chip burnt with a bit more upper RPM fuel, so I am hoping to see around 540-550 RWHP, this is going to be all on Pump gas 93 Octane, I want real world figures of just what the car will do day in day out. Once i feel i have reached the cars peak, i;ll then try some race gas & bump up the timing somewhat & see what numbers we can really push!
I think i may make a NOS pull on Friday too. I have the bottle heater in place & it's working a treat.
If the weather is good Saturday, you Florida locals should make the drive out, i reckon it will be a good day for all just to hang out & BS.

Kurt:
Looks very nice, but I can't imagine you driving that car in Florida this time of year wearing your leather pants   Is that a 2 1/2" Corsa system I see on there? I thought the 415 needed a 3" exhaust. When you go to Bradenton, take a shot of your car on the Sunshine Skyway bridge and post it here.

Kurt,
It indeed appears as though Bill knows his stuff quite well - and you seem very satisfied with his work - I was just wondering if there is a way someone might get a hold of Bill to discuss having some work done on their car? Does he have a website? Might I find his number in KOTH? My back issues are coming soon, as is my membership in the LT5 registry. I also get the impression that you very much prefer Bill's work over LPE - other than the obvious (more power) what other advantages did you find using Mr. Kirchoeffer? At some point i intend on modifying my 90 with a 415" - but I would like to use someone who is very well versed in this type of build up - did you fortify any other parts of the drivetrain? Is it necessary to do so - that's quite a leap in horsepower and torque!! I'm also in canada, and I'm not sure if anyone up here knows much about these issues, so bringing my car to the USA seems like the way to go. I was also impressed with the increase in power from the second chip you burned - is bill helping with this portion of your power tuning as well? Also, if you don't mind, how much did this endeavor set you back? If you are uncomfortable discussing $ on the forum, I completely understand.
Great ride, i'm sure you'll have a blast at the strip this weekend - I'll mention it to my buddy who has a new 02 ZO6 - maybe another victim for you!! :smash:
