All of a sudden with the top out im getting a squeek from the rear hatch. What needs to be adjusted to pull the hatch down tighter? Could the targa top resting the the cargo area be rubbing something?

The targa top provides a lot of rigidity for the car. Without it, there will be squeeks and rattles ... heck, mine has squeeks and rattles with the top in place

In other words, don't autocross your Z _without_ the targa top in place.

Turns out the fix for the rear hatch squeek ,was wrapping electrical tape around the latch for about 4 turns and shut the hatch,....squeek fixed.

I used a piece of teflon tubing. I slit it and slid it over the hatch latch.
Did that 15yrs ago. No more squeak.

Put a harness bar in there to tighten things up.

After installing my rd racing cross brace, everything is much quieter.
