options for j55 calipers?
Hello everyone-complete newbie here. I honestly don't own a corvette, but I have a vehicle equipped with a Baer Track kit which consists of a 1.1" thick 13" rotor, and what I believe to be a j55 based caliper rebadged with the Baer name. I'm trying to resolve some questions I have about them. I asked in my vehicle's normal forum and everyone jumped down my throat for asking-not a pleasant experience. So I figure I'd go to the source with people who actually know these brakes(and will hopefully be more helpful).
The thing I am not liking about my kit is that there seems to be about 5/8" or so of unused rotor surface towards the center. I am aware that if I had a pad to cover this area that it wouldn't make a huge performance difference . The brakes stop my car very well as is. They're a huge improvement over what the car had stock. I am more interested in making it look better. Having almost 1/4 of my rotor not being used irks me every time I walk by my car and have to look at it. So I am wondering if there are "taller" brake pads that fit in the j55 caliper to more evenly wear my rotors?
The other question I have is: Do C5 calipers have the same mounting bolt pattern? Swapping to the C5 calipers is something I hadn't thought of until I read some threads on this forum.

I don't really know about larger pads for the J55 calipers -- I don't think they exist -- but I am running C5 front brakes. The C5 caliper requires an adapter bracket for use with any C4 (whether equipped with J55 or not), so I'd be very doubtful you could bolt on a C5 caliper in place of your current Baer J55 style.

Thanks for the replies. I had doubts that the C5 would work since I already have a bracket to fit the Baer calipers on my steering knuckles. You just confirmed it.
I'll research the GS calipers some more. I was under the impression they were the same as the J55's. It will be nice if the pads end up being a little larger.
I may end up just tracking down a trashed C5 caliper just to use it for bolt specs and have someone make a bracket for me so I can use those. It sounds like they are a good way to go as far as options and price of replacement parts.
Thank you gentlemen again for your replies

If the brackets at that link were a direct bolt for my car that would be great. I am however currently using a bracket to fit the j55's on my car as is. I don't want to double up on brake brackets...that why iwould need someone to manufacture c5 or c6 brackets for me. I have never seen any body use c5 or c6 brackets for my car.
