LT5 exhaust
I am installing a LT5 in a SWC with Stainless longtube headers. Please help me with choosing 3in mufflers that will sound great.
Thanks, Bill

LS6, your only real option w/ 3" is B&B. It has a deep sound w/ this setup & makes the power. BE PREPARED FOR RESONANCE...
If you want a more exotic sound & don't mind 2 1/2" & an aluminized system, the Flowmaster system sounds fantastic w/ headers--I actually like the sound much more than my B&B setup.
The ideal setup IMO is the looks/flow & quality of the B&B w/ the sound of the Flowmasters--no such beast though!
I personally do not like the Corsas--headers or not...

A '63 split window coupe deserves a proper set of side pipes...have a custom 4" system made with chambered inserts for a nice mellow sound.
PS Watch your legs when getting out though unless you can fit some covers over it.

Take a serious look at the LT-4 Magnaflow #16837. Complete SS system with 4" tips, Xpipe and resonator. Sound is deep but it tames the dreaded 1600rpm drone. I can have a conversation at cruise.

Not mine... I got my system back in '96--it was some sort of early or prototype system--3" all the way through.
You are correct abt necking down to 2.5" w/ the B&B, but 3" everywhere else.
I didn't know abt that MF system--doesn't look to shabby to me...

very interesting the findings that were shown . i wonder how that mixing chamber/resonator effects the power of the exhaust .the exhaust my guy came up with seems more awsome all the time . if i hadnt seen the results on both the dyno and track i would have cried .when i told him the results at the track he just smiled like a cat that caught the mouse . plus the upside was he did the whole job for 800. i will have a bunch of exhausts for sale soon as i clean them up

The latest Gen B&B systems are actually fairly quiet. First Gens made a hell of a racket though.

Everybody keeps posting about C4 exhaust systems...has anybody noticed he put an LT5 in a '63 Corvette and none of these systems will fit??? His post referred to a "SWC" which is a Split Window Coupe.

no actually can gain one up to 1.5 mph more at the big end .what wheel spin does is actually make the track longer so the car will be higher up in the rpm range going thru the lights . that withstanding your mph is very good. are your heads ported or just the inj housings and plenum? is the magna flow system quiet? do you still have cabin drone?thanx for sharing

My own ported top end and tune. Heads stock.
Have always had tire spin going into 2nd gear. My 60' is in the 2.1-2.3 range and 1/8 mph between 87-91mph depending on launch and track.
No cabin drone at 1600-1800 rpm, nice mellow low bass note idle and cruise.
