Default New starter and plug wires

My starter on my ZR-1 is being affected by heat soak. I've got over 78k miles, so it was bound to happen. I want to replace it but don't have a good place to start. While I was at it, I wanted to replace the plug wires with original if that is possible. I did a web search but wasn't able to find what I wanted. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks.

Why do you say it is affected by heat soak? Might want to check the voltage drop from the battery to the solenoid. Might be a battery issue, not a starter issue.

As far as plug wires this is it. As original lt5 printed are too high.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-95...Q5fAccessories http://www.nookandtranny.com/mm5/mer...Category_Code=

Battery voltage is very good. It's a starter problem. After driving it out and back, it wouldn't start. After a hour, it starts. After driving about a hundred miles, i made a pit stop. Come back out, no start. After two hours of waiting for it to cool down, it starts. I'm pretty convinced that it is a starter.

Okay - gotcha. Sounds like the starter - or more likely, the solenoid itself. You should ohm out your plug wires to see if they are failing - if not, I would stick with them. Brand new wires are available from GM, fwiw.

Buy a set of Delco 628Ds. They are the direct wire replacements just without the LT5 logo on them
