Anybody know exactly where the LTPWS module mounts?
Putting dash back together that someone else took apart and location of module has me stumped, anyone got any pics of where it mounts?
While dash was apart, I replaced the original heater core(still good) with a new one as an insurance policy and tested it before buttoning it back up, what a PITA to get to, I can see now why it takes all day and then some to replace one of these boggers....
It sits just to the right of the speedo housing on the back/inner portion of the housing, on a small ridge that is raised, on the side that faces the firewall, there is a small raised like tunnel, this is where the "T" on the one end of the braclet sits, the other side of the bracket has a hole for a mounting screw. When sitting in the car in the drivers seat, with the dash pad off, it sits to the right of the speedo cluster but to the left of the center vent, sits on a 45 degree angle towards the left side of the car, leads from the module are facing the floorboards.
What threw me off was the bracket with the "T" interlock on one end, I tried all sorts of combinations to see where it goes and without pics, I was stumped. I didn't take it apart, someone else did or it would have been a easy one.
Pics are worth a thousand words in this case.
I'll try and get some pics and post them up.
I Let my FSM go with last car,. guess I'll be buying another one soon.

Yeah pics might help.. this a 'good to know' category for me..
As for the FSM, Yeah I keep all mine, I have too many right now though
So it's true? If you need to do a heater core the entire dash has to come out....just to start the job? Then it's on to the passenger side for the evap & heater cores in that box?

TT,
What made the heater core replacement easier for me is the entire dash was out of my car for other reasons, the inner sleleton or dash frame was out of the car as was all bracketry.
It was still a bear getting behind all the crap under the right side hush panel.
I did a pressure test to the cooling system aften installing the core to check for leaks so I would not have to do it a second time.
I've now got it mostly back together and have a new issue, the radio is now not working correctly, will power up but volume is faint if you get close to the speakers, it did work before I took it apart so I'm not sure what is going on. It's been apart for 6 months so it could be the CDM took a crap or could be something else. Hoping its not something I disturbed while it was apart, I did have to move the wire harness by the RS hush panel out of the way, didn't force anything but the harness was as big as a good sized snake! and not too easy to move to make room for the heater core cover access to come off.
I've got a electrical FSM suppliment on its way so I can figure whats going on with that. I'm thinking if the wiring is OK, the CDM might be suspect, heard lots of not so good things about the CDM's and their ability to just crap out.
The real pisser is my heater core was not leaking, I did it because I figured I was on borrowed time with it since its almost 20 years old and it was easier to get to while it was apart.
In laymens terms, it was a real booger of a job and will test your patients. GM built the friggin car around the heater core...

Locobob also had to change out his heater core. Only work I've ever
heard him complain about. Something like, "I'd rather go through a root canal."
ZR thanks for the info! I dread doing mine when the time comes.
Call Dr Don down in TX and run the symptoms by him. He may be able to give you some insight as to what is up. The way I understand the BOSE system is that the head is just a display for the LCD functions and the CD & Tape, The CDM box is the receiver, the pre-amp, and the stuff for the clock and memory for the function buttons and pre-sets for the AM/FM selections. The speakers have amps at each one, and therefore the CDM box is not really the amp......or at least that's the way I understand the system.
