Default Motor from the factory?

I bought this motor. it came from the factory. here are some of the cool parts that are different from a normal LT5. has any one seen these? http://cid-374bdaad44e8964f.skydrive...aspx/zr-1?uc=2

I think Ive seen those water outlets used on the active suspension car.

It is a pre production motor to say the least, the hard lines on the plenum tell that story, The water outlet Id have to see pics of the active suspension car to say yes or no on that one.

Its a cool motor early motor but not sure when all the AS stuff was going on

If you look at the document above you will see that the 1989 active suspension cars were vin 800018 to 800032 and since the vin derivitave on this motor is 800029 the motor came out of one of the active suspension cars. It did not come 'from the factory' it was removed from a car being scrapped IAW GM policy.

Yep saw you posted that after I posted.

I wonder what happend to the chassis when they scraped it and why did so many of the 89 motors survive and you have a hell of a time putting your engine together.

That one convertible that used to be in SC had the motor with it and the plenum was smashed but this one makes it.

There were only 25 phase 2 motors, they were only in the 25 1988 zr1s which were all destroyed (except for mine) and most of these 25 engines failed due to cams. All 89 cars had Phase 3 motors and there are 1500 engineering changes between the 2.
