10K is a great price for a Zr-1 in ANY cond. As long as its not a salvage or something like that. The car is a C-4, completely serviceable. Hell if if needs new leather or carpet and one can save 7K why not.
The drivetrain is stout.
Not bad considering you can get about a grand for just the wheels. I love the 90 ZR-1s. $8000 and then a trip to get a 415 upgrade on that tired engine. You could really make a nice car for under twenty grand here.
Plan on spending some money on this one. Its still a great deal is certain regards, however, if you are going to enjoy it like a daily driver and many of the parts are original it is going to cost you. Things like the radiator, injectors, wheel bearing, stereo, etc, and even a trans rebuild around a 150K are going to set you back to 14K+ invested in short order.
I want it !

From last year when the guy was selling for $12.9K
Hubs/wheel bearings will run about $1000, and at 124K they will need replacing soon if not already. U-joints, suspension linkages and soft components, water pump, alternator, etc., etc. will all have to be replaced if they haven't in the past 20-30,000 miles.
I dont own a ZR1. What's different about the windshield? I have a base C4, and lurk here in the ZR1 section to learn more about the Z's.
Thanks,
Corvette Mike
ZR-1 windshields have a special coating sandwiched in between the glass layers to reflect solar energy. When the ZR-1 package was being developed, the interior compartment had to met certain internal GM cooling standards. Because the LT5 is such a big beast, GM couldn't fit the standard A/C unit into the engine compartment. Their compromise was to use a smaller A/C unit and utilize a reflective coating in windshield to help maintain cabin temperatures in a hot environment. The frustration for virtually all ZR-1 owners has been the delamination of the different layers giving the windshield a mottled look. For some reason, the later windshields seem to be worse with the delamination. I understand the last 95 ZR-1 in the Corvette museum has a particularly bad case of this delamination.
One final point on the ZR-1 windshield, you will notice a "cutout" at the bottom of the windshield in the center but toward the driver-side. This cutout was put in place to allow radar detectors to operate through the windshield. The coating apparently inhibited detector usability so a spot was needed to allow access.
See the following picture to see what delamination looks like:
Well here is what i got for 500. The bolt right up to the stock resonator position. The Cats are Random Tech. The pipes are done really nice. Note the heat shields. These sound awesome. They are ceramic coated. The emissions stuff was welded over then ground off, then coating was applied. The pipes cleaned up nicely as the pictures was before They were purchased.
**Some guy just stopped by 1 hour ago,and made a offer on the zr1. Too low, but you should have seen the look on their faces when I started her up revved it up a bit. They had 13.5 cash...
Thank you. I had no clue about the windshield being different.

I think the whole windshield BS is just that BS A regular vette windshield is just fine, I know I wouldnt pay a premium now for a "correct" windshield let the NCRS guys fight over that stuff.

Surprisingly, the original windshield on my '90 ZR-1 has virtually no delamination. But if I ever do have to replace it, I will probably put in a normal C4 windshield, I'm not paying $1500 for a piece of glass.
