I recently purchased a 1990 ZR-1 #2682 which has manual air conditioning. The window sticker confirms this as original. Someone in our club said this is rare and the only year that had any manual a/c ZR-1`S.
Is this true and if so does it mean anything from a collectors standpoint?
Yes 90's were the only ZR-1 that had an air option. You didn't see that many of them because most dealers ordered everything or didn't know about the air option. As far as a collector car I really don't think so. It just depends on who you talk with and the manual air has less to go wrong with it. Now if it were a factory GHO car (3:54 factory gears) and an early steel half shaft car and Yellow, Turq., or Quasar Blue ( Just rare colors) with Manual air, then that might be neat combo to the right person. :D
Pete,
Thanks, I figured as much that the a/c would not make that much difference. The car is late in the production run, exterior color is bright red, interior is gray and has the dual roof option.
