Default What Happened to the Wette Vette

I just bought a magizine from 1992 and it had an article about a Baja with an LT5, it had "Wette Vette" painted on the side. It looked very cool, Red and White with a trailer with Vette rims.

I wonder if it has survived and if there are any other LT5's in boats.

Rick Kurt?? says he has the motors. One boat had a BB put in it and its owner decapatiated himself on a lake in Canada by running under a dock and forgetting to duck. The boat is still tied up the estate settlement.

We ran a full page article in the last KOTH issue about these LT5 powered boats. Rick Kirk has a complete engine from one in his shop.

I can't give you an honest answer to that question. I don't know exactly how many were produced.

You're talking about the Corvette Limited Edition Ski Boat made by Malibu
and the engine by Callaway. Not sure what year they started making them but was suppose to be limited to 125 per year. They built them for a few years but I'm not sure if they are building them anymore.

"The Malibu Limited Edition Corvette Ski Boat is powered by our world famous Callaway Supernatural® 383 and marinized by Indmar. This is the highest performing direct drive ski boat ever introduced. This engine boasts over 400 horsepower and 425 foot pounds of torque. "

Hi,Mom. Actually,we were talking about the original Wet Vette,a Baja boat powered by a marine LT5. The numbers produced are,at best, very few.
