94 ZR-1 On Ebay, damn that motors cheap

$24,500.00 is the current bid, with reserve met, whats the deal here?
Huh,
Now I know, it's been rebuilt, but still an excellent buy if done right.
Kurt.

Re: 94 ZR-1 On Ebay, damn that motors cheap (LIMEY)
Im sure it has a story as long as a novel... Houston, more than likely it was under water too... But, its one of those deals... If you want a good buy and can put up with a few possible quirks, paint runs, mis matched panels, and/or some algie and waterstains, etc to save 1000s, get it. I dont think you can go wrong..... I promise, whatever happend to this car, its in better shape than an x drag racer that has never been wrecked. Point is, if you want perfection, it usualy comes with a price. I have bought/sold a few salvage title ZR1s and they were absolutly nice for what they were This one even shows a clear title.... The only real bad ZR1s I have encounterd are the Ex 1/4 milers, drag tired, tuner/modified and returned to stock stuff... They are the ones that are rattle traps and problematic cars with parts literally falling off of them from they clowns trying to patch them up and sell them.... High mile stock, properly taken care of ZR1s or wrecked and fixed low mile cars usually are never a problem and make for a nice car at a great price. Id own one like this any day of the week.

the reserve is sure low, ad reads "victim of divorce". worth a bid IMHO as the car on the surface looks good.

Well,
If it was not for me having the 415" motor built, that car would be in my garage next week.
Screw it, I may visit the bank tomorrow anyway's, if that car can be had for less than $30k, then that's the best priced ZR-1 i have EVER seen, period.
Has anybody got the scoop on this car?
We know it's had work, but heck, so has my car :-)~, it appears to have no carfax history, which is very good & has a clean title.
VERY VERY Tempting.

I am going to ask the seller what the wreck was about. if the thing had a major accident and is tweaked, that would explain the low price.
another possibility is the infamous "u boat captains" cars that have been dunked never get fixed right.
damn kurt, don't bid on this, Ms. Kreigh needs a Z. who's doing that 415 for you??? give us some details pleeeezz. see you in BG :p:

I'm interested in this car for my new driver, so I sent the seller the following questions...can anybody think of anything else relavent? The lack of pictures and the quality of the pics makes me want to shy away, but...
What all was damaged in the accident? What state was it titled in before/after the accident? Are you the original owner; were you the owner at the time of the accident? Do you have any pictures of the accident damage?
Who is the warranty through? If this is a GM warranty, you might should check on the details and let us all know before the auction closes. The warranty certainly makes the vehicle more valuable, but the standard GM extended warranty would have given it 6 yrs/50k from the ORIGINAL PURCHASE DATE, which would make it no longer in service? I called the local service shop and they couldn't find a GM warranty existing on the car, so I just wanted to check.
I am assuming the car is immaculate in every way from the way it has been described. Is there any wear at all on the seats/carpet/etc or any paint wear such as scratches/chips/spider cracks/fading/hazing/swirlmarks/etc. Was the entire car repainted, or just the portion affected in the accident? Is there any curb rash on any of the wheels? What is the brand/condition of the tires? Is there any overspray in any of the wheel wells or on the undercarriage from the repaint? What is the condition of the weatherstripping? Even if it doesn't leak, is it dry/cracked anywhere (a full set of weatherstripping is about $800++)? Does the car have all the paperwork that would be expected such as the owner's kit, maybe the window sticker, all maintenance records, etc? Is there anything at all on the car which is non-functional, or in need of repair (ie. cd player, lumbar in seats, fx3 suspension, windshield cracks or delamination, etc). Has the car ever been raced?

car went for less than 30k, a steal indeed. best deal on a low mile 94 I've seen yet. wish I could have snagged it!! but I have too many toys already.
this would have been a really good purchase. I asked the buyer to give us details.
I'm jealous :cuss :nonod:

Im sure its nice... BUt You ALWAYS get what you pay for. Either way its a damn good deal on paper, I'm sure the car is by no means perfect as its more than likely a clip or somthing like that. Being that the car had 5K on it when it was wrecked, there are not too many insurance companies that would total it ,even if it was cut in half in an accident and more than likely it was wrecked pretty serious for him to mention it the way he did. 29K is a good deal, but 29K for an untouched 90 91 with low miles would have been a better move.

the accident didn't sound too bad. the owner mentioned he would bring the car to BG this year.
I missed it by 700 lousy bucks!!!
